If you want some context here it is (will contain spoilers)




-The Grand Duke and Maria were childhood friends and Elias’s mother was manipulated by the emperor into casting a death curse on many people, one of which being the Grand Duke when he was a child, Maria went into The Grand Duke’s room the night that Celestia (Elias’s mother) went to go curse him.


-because Maria was born specially, she has the ability to absorb curses and purify them, thus when Celestia casted the spell, Maria absorbed half of it, and it has been merging with her soul, slowly erasing her existence, which explains her lack of presence, and why she is fading in the last few chapters (cause that’s when she actually faded from existence)(also her fading means everyone forgot about her completely except Elias.)


-The grand Duke took on the other half of the death curse (since it was originally casted on him in the first place) It is never exactly explained why it manifested that way on him, or weather it has any adverse effects on his health or life expectancy, or really anything else. They never really elaborated on how the curse affected him. They just said it changed his body. He can put away the demon horns and everything at will as well, but it looks like he just decided to stay that way permanently by the end.

Other side notes include:
-apparently the Grand Duke and Elias are actually half-brothers somehow, my brain sorta skipped over the explanation for that.

-Maria & Elias are engaged by the final chapters.

-The saintess from the original book Maria mentioned she got stuck in (felice?) originally sought out Maria’s soul because the og Maria was already too faded to be of use. Felice was helping Celestia try and contain Elias’s curse, and because of Maria’s special thing, she would be able to help Elias but since OG Maria’s soul was almost gone, Felice sought out OG Maria’s sister soul (which happened to be our MC) and made a deal with her and put MC Maria’s soul in OG Maria’s body.

-Elias’s curse was because his mother, Celestia was a “Magical Being” and the last princess of Magical beings.When Elias was a child, Celestia transferred her remaining magic to Elias so the Emperor wouldn’t be able to take advantage anymore. Because Elias was born a halfblood, Celestia underestimated how much power Elias had initially. Celestia transferred her magic via a curse, and because he had an overwhelming amount of power after that, it would just explode because he couldn’t control it. So Elias was given a artifact, a ring that could contain it, but Felice got a prophecy saying Elias would be the fall of the empire, because his magic would get out of hand so that’s why they sought out Maria.

If this is the artist’s interpretation of Langdon Hood, I’m gonna nope out of the adaptation. I can’t read without feeling a cognitive dissonance. ╥﹏╥ Everyone else I have been at least somewhat okay with. I visualized Vincent as possibly more in his mid-30s, but everything else has been more or less consistent with my own imagination.

You have to admit that no one who actually read the original novel imagined this dude looking like a pubescent western chunni twink. The artist did him and his group DIRTY. I mean, come on, they were chunni originally, sure, BUT THIS?!!! *hurling noises from the far off bathroom*

Any popular Korean webtoons that were adapted from a novel you could find here. It contains stories like ORV, Trash of the Count’s Family, Solo Leveling, etc. I recommend reading the novel version from the beginning, the manhwa is a pretty one-to-one adaption, but it does lose things occasionally. That and the misunderstandings are MUCH more hilarious.

I also read novel ver but stopped because I felt confused. I'm not saying the translation is bad, it's actually quite good enough to understand each sentences but because of my lack imagination, I don't understand the circumstances of MC's surrounding.

But didn’t the Mc say that he was being honest after everything the Mc put them through. Like even the Mc has told him the rejection from the ML hurt him and the ML was like “what were you expecting?”
