honestly, considering the type of characters they are, this is legit written perfectly. it isn’t that they dislike each other, it isn’t that they aren’t communicating in this moment it’s that they’re coming from 2 different places with two different backgrounds and with two different approaches to relationships. yes they understand each other and even if they see the other person acting out of ordinary doesn’t mean they know how to react especially when in the heat of the moment. perfect way this argument would have gone with an understanding of what they know, how they feel, and how they’re reacting
