I was thinking a hand or finger. It seemed more "accidental" by way of being cut by an ice skate if someone was knocked on the ice.
If I was mafia, fingers and toes are very painful and easier to remove than facial feature; fingers especially have a lot of brain neuro activity. Ears are cartilage and don't have as many nerve endings. But I do like the idea of preventing "in one ear and out the other."
This is why you don't allow someone to be self-righteous with your resources. When they think it is too tough, they have a backdoor to leave.
And in this case, Tiger's mom wasn't even doing the heavy lifting.
