the whole story would have been good (it is quite nice later), but the beginning ruined it a bit... if Suzuya was really in heat, he would have been FORCED into that relationship. why do some people romanticize it? forcing is sick ;-;

Personally this is the best ch in their story arc. I hope no one tries to trash on Kyungsoo & Haesoo. Kyungsoo knows if he runs back & keeps letting Chowon gets what he wants it won’t humble him. THATS why he didn’t go to the hospital. He wasn’t being a dick or cold, he was being realistic & normal. Same with Haesoo. Haesoo does not need to forgive him, he is not obligated to. However this CH shows how mature Haesoo is. Even though he doesn’t forgive him, he still tells him “You will be able to move on like an ordinary person. You’ll fell bad but eventually forget it.” I think Haesoo’s comment really helped Chowon. He didn’t curse him or call him a monster. He saw Chowon as a normal person in that moment.

Too sad, people never learn how to forgive others no matter they do even its hurt even it is traumatize situations. I may say looks like easy but damn, its hard tk forgive but with that kind of attitude Heesoo, dude, sorry i guess im going to hate Heesoo. Having a mental illness is not easy. I hope heesoo think twice next time. He only makes Chowon get worse

I'm gonna be honest, this is embarrassing. I like Taku but some of these Taku stans are doing to fucking much. We don't know if Joowon is definitely the endgame. Taku ain't all that either. He basically knew that Haesoo's company had the video of the sex tap and Taku knew who tipped it off to the company. Taku kept that information from Haesoo until chapter 70 after he confessed his love to Haesso to clear everything up. The people that call Taku an "Manipulative asshole" or any variation of that, I get he was very manipulative in the beginning but that soon stopped once Haesoo confronted him about it and then Taku started to have genuine feelings for him that y'all see as MaNiPuLaTiVe. And Haesoo still gave him that month of an relationship.
But, to be honest Haesoo did things to Joowon to make him angry/possessive. Haesoo did those thing because he knew Joowon would get angry if you look at chapter 16-17. Haesoo says and does thing with other people and it's very obvious that he was doing it on purpose. If Haesoo didn't have any type of feelings for Taku he wouldn't have had sex with him for the second time (37) or the third time (38) and had Taku comfort him in Chapter 37. If Taku didn't "love" Haesoo then why would he even bother to take care of him when he was sick in chapter 49. Also whenever Haesso would have sex with Taku, Taku would always ask if Haesoo was "okay" or if he wanted to stop at any point in time Joowon didn't do that once even when Haesoo wanted to take a break. In Chapter 57 Taku said to Haesoo to "Take a chance and love me. Even if you're just pretending. I don't mind" (direct quote) Taku didn't care if Haesoo didn't have the same feelings. He just wanted to be with him. I knew Haesoo loved Joowon since the beginning of FUCKING TIME but i still wanted that hope. You know?
I never gave a fuck about Joowon once I found out they used to be step brothers. That right there turned me off immediately. Me personal I don't want any of them to be together because:
1. their parents want to get back together from what I remember so Eww no y'all would be step- brothers so that's a big no for me. The Dad told Haesoo in Chapter 35 and then The mom told Joowon in Chapter 43. Haesoo even confirmed the wedding plans with his mom on chapter 84.
2. I know Joowon had some character development after chapter 86 and on but he was still being an asshole
3. They all need time to themselves cause it obviously not working together,so get some therapy.
It makes me laugh how the Joowon stans will bashing Taku stans for one incident and defend Joowon like he did nothing wrong when Joowons done way more.
1. Pushed Haesoo into a corner when he wanted to get the lighter back to give to Taku and basically forced him to give him that gock gock 3000. Haesoo literally cried about it with Taku in Chapter 37.
2. He overly possessive over Haesoo when he was the one that told Haesoo that they were gonna just hook up and not be in a relationship. He literally told Haesoo not to fell in love with him.
3. He wanted to find out who Haesoo was sleeping with so he invites Taku and him to diner to get Haesoo reaction and just to be rude to Taku. That was just Joowon being possessive/jealous and not wanting any other man in his life he an fall in love with.
4. Not him going to Haesoo apartment (without permission when about 4 chapters prior Haesoo told him to tell him if he was coming over.) to see if he was there and to find out that he wasn't. (C.h 40)
5. Not Joowon putting the blame on Haesoo after Haesoo wanted to be regular brothers again and saying that Haesoo wanted to abandon him instead (C.h 56)
6. Not Joowon showing up at Takus' house out of frustration (C.h 64) cause Haesoo "ended things" with him and almost punching him in the face.

So conclusion I don't really have strong feelings for any of them. Its just that if you're gonna stan any of them at least have the facts to back up your argument if you feel the need to fight anyone on who or what they stan. Cause they all bad but in their own way. I just listed why I will never stan Joowon with facts. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ If you read the whole thing you can come after meヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~. But I know everything I commented is right. Still opened to opinions.(⌒▽⌒)(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

I hate Chowon's family. I never believed that family loves you best because sometimes, they're the ones who will ruin you. I blame Dojun, Chowon's family and other ppl for what is happening at him right now because:

1. They didn't care about Chowon, it's so obvious because they got angry at him for ruining his OWN married life, when in fact, they should understand Chowon and is reasons why it became like that. There is a reason why the marriage fall apart, I think his mental has something to do with it.

2. His brother, he is envious. Like why in the hell are you jealous? as far as i know, he is an alpha. THAT ITSELF IS HIS PRIDE. if he is jealous of Chowon's success, then he should also do his best.

3. Dojun, I don't clearly hate Dojun like 100%, but, the fact that he accepted the marriage only to neglect his duties as the husband/alpha is already sht itself. He should at least ask about Chowon's welfare even though they don't share the same feelings.

4. the people around Chowon, I get it, society is like that. ppl are selfish. Because they have their expectations for him, he ought to bring out his best. but, the question is, does Chowon really like to play violin? because if he does, in my opinion, it will ruin him more if he forces himself to it.

he should take a break from everyone. he needs time to find himself, and therapy is the best example for that.

THIS IS MY OWN REASONING, PLEASE DONT HATE ME

One of the few omegaverse that's so wholesome & pure. No rape. No prejudicing omegas. And most of all, they love omegas too! The boss even understands his heat problem (tho its a lie XD) and even gives him vacation every month, the coworkers adore him, & and the town even protects omegas (they called the police when the uke was in heat and seperates him from the Alpha). Not to mention the personality of the uke is at the top notch ლ(´ڡ`ლ) so yea! Definitely a gem (●'◡'●)ノ

If you fail to see how deep the story is because of the sex just stop reading manga at all, because you'll never understand the depth of most mangas.

There are some important problematics here, and all you guys understand is that there's a lot of sex? Damn. Go back to comics etc, or even shoujos.

When I started BL about 10 years ago most yaoi stories did NOT have that much depth, just sex, and it was 80% yaoi 20% shounen-ai. But you are gonna brush away the whole depth of the story because SEX? Are you 13 or did you start yaoi after quitting shoujo two weeks ago????

I'm sorry but people who hate on chowon and hyesung are nothing but immature. Do you expect every relationship to be sweet and endearing fated couple I love you you love me romantic kinda thing nO there's bound to be conflict, uncertainties and regrets when it comes to building a new relationship. You're bound to hurt ur lover once or twice and breaking down tryna understand what is the right thing to do. "Hyesung is so annoying" He's trying to figure out HIS LIFE HERE who he will be with for the rest of his life for the sake of his child.

I especially DON'T understand how people can say that Dojun is an AbSoLute sWeethEart and hyesung doesn't deserve him uMm did yall forget that hyesung never even wanted to be with him in the first place? It war clearly one sided but Dojun still forced himself on him and they were forced to be together cuz of the pregnancy. Just because hyesung left people are treating him as the bad guy when he's clearly just as sad and confused. In other words gEt oVer iT frikkin Dojun simps I mean I have nothing against him I liked him after a bit but the ones saying hyesung is terrible and Dojun is perfect are totally absolutely biased. Sorry just needed to rant.

Ever since the new season (or well the second series of side stories) came out, I’ve been noticing a massive backlash against Chowon; similar to the hate Hyesung faced (and is still facing) which is why I wanted to bring forward some facts.

Gender: Male Omega
Kim Hyesung: Recessive
Lee Chowon: Dominant

Kim Hyesung:

From the very first chapter Hyesung is seen a rather ‘bratty’ character; an omega who strongly believed that he was an alpha & as the story progresses he keeps showing the same set of characteristics: Bratty, selfish and somewhat naive in his own way.

Growing up Hyesung had a firm belief that he was an alpha (because they were ‘tested’ at school around the age of 12-14). To him, an omega’s life was ‘horrible’ while he didn’t really care if he was an alpha or a beta. However, when he finally faced the fact that he was, in fact, an omega, the belief he built his life on shattered overnight.

Hyesung grew up in an abusive household, where his father abused him along with his mother (who eventually ran away when he was 5). For almost all his life he was never truly ‘loved’. He never wanted to manifest as an omega because he knew that his father would use him like he used her mother and sell him out like he gave his wife (Hyesung’s mother) to an alpha client. When his father abandoned and left him with his grandmother, he didn’t mind it though she didn’t care for him; to him, it was as if he’d finally escaped from the nightmare his father made him live in. Nevertheless, when she met his father at his grandmother’s funeral; his mocking sneer made his fear of being recognized as an omega resurface.

Him believing that he was an ‘alpha’ was his freedom, hence when he came face to face with the truth; he tried his best to either deny/change it. His childhood played a pivotal role in his behaviour. This was also shown when he learned that Dojin gets inspired every time they have sex, making him believe he was used.

As the story progresses it is shown that he’s very self-conscious, which is also deeply rooted in his past. He’d often question why Dojin liked him because he was made to believe that he was not ‘good enough’ for such a dominant alpha, like Dojin.

As mentioned before Hyesung never received genuine affection, thus feared it’s true nature. In short, he didn’t believe in love at all, since he witnessed his so-called family fall apart. Though not portrayed as such, Hyesung is extremely vulnerable, he protected himself by building a wall around his heart. His fear of abandonment made him try his best not to get swayed by Dojin’s act of love, consequently, his way of doing so was running away.

Even if he tried his best to act like he didn’t care about Byul; he truly did love his baby, and he feared that his child would meet the same fate as him. Some fail to realise the uncanny similarities his relationship with Dojin and the relationship of his parents. Both the couples had unplanned children (hence forcing them to stay together). It wouldn’t be surprising if Hyesung is revealed to have noticed the similarity; hence making him stay on guard.

People tend to forget Hyesung was only 20 when he got pregnant. Not only wasn’t that very young, but he also didn’t know what to do if he gave birth to a baby moreover he didn’t know how he’d provide for his baby. He loved Byul dearly but was unaware of how to express his affection even after his birth.

He ran away after overhearing because:
He thought that Dojin would restrict the freedom that he found after such a long time
He was afraid that he was being used
He feared Dojin going back at his words & abandoning him and Byul

Even if he hid with Heeso’s help; he couldn’t forget about Byul. He didn’t want to believe that Dojin would abandon their baby, though he was forced to believe so because of Heeso’s lies. His maternal love towards Byul was strong enough for him to not tell and Heeso and see if Dojin has truly abandoned their baby or not.

Other than being headstrong Hyesung is also very observant; he was aware of his flaws and slowly started to try his best at being a lover and a parent. Nevertheless, no one is truly perfect and the same goes Hyesung; however, I believe that his flaws are the things that make him ‘Hyesung’, and all that matters, in the end, is their happiness.

Lee Chowon:

Though Chowon and Hyesung are both omegas, they’re very different. One is dominant, one is recessive, one comes from a rich background the other doesn’t, etc. Nevertheless, they do share some similarities, such as both are headstrong, both have a tsundere personality and most importantly both were never truly loved.

Chowon was born as an extremely dominant omega, hence often believed to be superior to the others. His pheromones are strong enough to surpass his brother’s (who is an alpha), however, due to the omegaverse hierarchy, his brother became the heir to their family.

Just as I mentioned for Hyesung, childhood is a pivotal point in one’s life. Same goes for Chowon; ever since he manifested he was praised to be perfect and so he was. He had everything he one could ever ask for but was he really happy? No. Just like Hyesung, he was used from the very beginning. His family never wanted his consent when marrying him off to Dojun; nonetheless, he played along because he believed Dojun was a perfect partner for an omega like him.

Though he was married his husband never looked at him. Dojun never truly loved him but he never said anything for his cowardice. The gap between Chowon and Dojun made him restless, making him very sensitive and untrustworthy. He was afraid that ‘his alpha’ would abandon him.

According to the manhwa (or almost any other omegaverse), alphas and omegas need each other to survive & hence just like how alpha can be possessive of his/her omega; an omega can also be possessive over their alpha. All his life Chowon believed he was superior to others (or even too good for others) thus he couldn’t bear to lose his husband to someone else, eventually leading him to get progressively aggressive and harassing.

2 years after their divorce Chowon learned that the alpha he couldn’t forget moved on, however not only that but also Dojun loved a beta. The truth crushed him eventually making him irrational. Though his erratic actions can not be justified; his actions weren’t without a cause.

The recent chapters have been giving us insights on his side of the story. He’s beautiful and talented yet he was abandoned. When he was married to Dojun he had to live in the fear of being left behind and so he was. Dojun was a turning point in his life, someone who made him realise no matter how perfect he is he’ll never be loved.

Other than being the son of an influential family Chowon is also a public figure, and performer (violinist); hence he faced a massive backlash. Even though he acts like he doesn’t care, it still affects his mind in some way or other which hampers his stability.

Kyungsoo and Chowon are a good pairing. Yes, Kyungsoo is rather naive but his company is slowly healing Chowon’s emotional scars.

[Not much is known about Chowon yet, but I might end up updating this as we get to know more about him.]

Some other thoughts:

Yes, Hyesung and Chowon have their flaws, but flaws build characters. Someone is never truly perfect and the same goes for them. Both the characters are very sensitive due to their ‘pasts’. People hate on them yet the Park brothers (Dojun & Dojin) are no saints either. Other than that, I feel like redemption arcs like this should be appreciated more.

Though omegas are supposed to be delicate, Fargo portrayed the omegas rather uniquely. They just need time to grow as characters.

Honestly when Chowon was quite infuriating when he was first introduced, mainly because of his narcissistic antics and immense pride but as Dojun tells his story, Chowon wasn’t entirely at fault. Even Dojun admitted his guilt because only if he had done something things wouldn’t have been so out of control. On the other hand, Hyesung’s stubbornness was quite amusing to see.

The most important thing is that both the characters are growing, and learning new things. I hope for a happy ending for both of them and wish that their scars heal with time.

All the things mentioned above are written from my reading experience hence no one is obliged to agree with me, however, I hope you don’t see them as one-dimensional characters since a lot of thought has been given to them. Character building has many layers which are why one needs to notice small details to understand the characters completely.

‘Love is an Illusion’ is the first A/B/O manhwa I’ve read, since then I’ve completed it 5 times. I just want the readers to enjoy the story as I did and appreciate the character along with the author’s work.

{At this point, I might even end up analyzing other characters from ‘L.I.A.I’ too.}
