First of all Jaehyuk is portrayed as new to the idea of bisexuality. Some people dont consider it once until they get in a situation where they feel safe to explore it. Speaking of experience.
Secondly being bisexual doesnt mean you fuck everyone around, so in BL, yaoi of all things you wont see much more heavy rep of bisexuality, it changes its whole tag.
Third of all, this is fiction so everything that is written is part of authors work. Garam disputes Jaehyuks stupid joke. By the plot, at this point Jaehyuk does everything to just make Garam focus on him. I think he is genuinely written as xyz-person-sexual, not so much bisexual or gay. (But he clearly is not straight either and i fkn hate labels, you should fuck whomever you want with their consent and ability to consent, but that is my bisexual bias and not everyone can fit in the labels)
Fourth of all ITS BL, HOW ARE BL WRITERS OBLIGATED TO WRITE BISEXUALITY. Bisexuality by its nature does not fall strictly in BL, it is just adult fiction with BL or GL elements.

i'm still confused on what you're going on about in this reply, but i don't need you to explain to me what bisexuality is for starters. i'm quite aware that bisexual people don't screw every moving thing in sight. had you understood the joke, you'd see that im not asking for the addition of straight smut in my BL webtoon?

in any case, the importance here is *context*, which is what my joke was referencing back to. ill explain since we're all lacking critical thinking skills from tiktok brainrot as of late because im charitable. in this latest chapter, garam is reluctant to invite jaehyuk to his friend's 100d bf anniversary as he's originally "not apart of the scene." fine— whatever. lets ignore the fact that many people discover more sides to their sexuality in different stages of their life, so why it would matter that he wasn't originally apart of a community that he now wants to join as a bisexual individual is beyond me, but we'll skip that.

garam still believes that the guy who confessed his interest in him and plows his ass on a monday through sunday basis... is still solely straight by the way he dismisses him here. its short, but what proceeds is an argument between the two of them which is essentially just argues the point of if jaehyuk gay or straight, with no expressed acknowledgement over maybe he could be (and IS) something in between? its either he's now gay because he's with garam or if he breaks up with garam, he'll go back to only women because he was always straight... which isn't how sexualities in general work at all. i implore you to actually research into actual commentary into what bi-erasure looks like in media because this literally screams the "no bisexuals" trope and its bi-erasure to its most literal definition lmao. to argue otherwise is comical.

you might not like labels, however they're directly stating labels in this chapter, and much of the story is about these labels and the author chose for the characters to define themselves with these labels. again, i recommend reading up about the kinsley scale, and how bisexuality is a spectrum that fits more than what you're assuming it does.

and authors can write bisexual characters by... not erasing their bisexulity. to be fair, i really don't even know if most BL authors know what bisexuality is or even believe it exists with how often i see this exact same scenario.
