2 things, first I think they made the decision to have the uke realize his feelings prior to sex to prevent it from being rape. Don't know what would have happened if he had protested, but he welcomed it instead so it's a moot point.
Second, "no one gives a shit about people being murdered," because it's barely related to the plot. We only see that because it is literally the uke's job to investigate murders.

God, I feel this comment so much. All of those cliches prevented me from even finishing the manga. I found this manga in a list of “strong ukes”. Suffice it to say that...I didn’t see the “strong” anywhere. Because he knew judo and could throw the seme around everyone in a while? Sure, okay.

Instead of oiling his own business, he's all 'bout sticking his nose into other people's private affairs, willingly creating misunderstandings and making the people around him suffer for his own benefit. A total character less with 0℅ self respect and 0℅ respect for others. And ruining other people's lives so easily only because he wants a good fuck, lol. This sudden character change is laughable for an asshole like him.
Like Kotaro truly considers him as his close friend and a trust worthy colleague. But what did Akira do after going to Ayumi's place? The first thing he asked for is to be fucked by Ayumi, even after knowing he's Kotaro's lover. I mean just that one bit proves that all of his friendly approaches toward Kotaro is nothing but fake. A real snake with two faces lol.
However, everything depends on the author's wishes so ╮(￣▽￣)╭ I hope the upcoming chapters have more Kotaro-Ayumi and that cutie chief (≧∀≦)
