I apologize if I offend anyone. I do not mean too.
I've seen this whole "don't post because it's licences and if you do, we will stop, etc etc", thing so many times, it's not worth trying to prevent it from happening. I'm not saying I don't respect what they are doing nor share it requested it because I do and I wouldn't. I truly understand how concern they can be when you upload it on a site, but once you share it to everyone, it's going to get out--it's going to get on a site eventually. There is no stopping it no matter how much you say "don't share it". Even if you have it in big words. Some people just won't care and will share it. This always happens and I see it all the time.
What I'm trying to say is, if the scanlator don't want to be concern about the legal reason, then don't post it, don't share it, don't even translate it, even if you want to share it with others. You have to understand that it will get out no matter what you do. If you do want to share it, you have to be willing to risk knowing that it will be shared on other manga's site.
*nor share it because I do respect them and I wouldn't share it if they asked.
Telling the scanlator not to post it is basically the same as saying, "Well, you put it out here, so don't go blaming us." I just wish people were better than that, since I assume if they're reading on a manga site, they don't know Japanese either and are leeching off other people's generosity.
It's because of this kind of mentality that some people just stop doing this kind of work eventually. It's incredibly discouraging that some people don't know how to respect the wishes of some people.
I was itching to share it with people because I wanted to have someone to discuss the current chapter with, but I didn't because I respect the people who worked hard to scan, translate, and clean the work.
Yes, I totally understand. Some people can't respect other people's wishes when it comes to this and it's annoying, but unfortunately there is going to be that one person who don't care at all and will share it, no matter what is said towards them.
Scanlators are pirates. Don't kid yourself. They're the guys selling DVDs of movies they videotaped in theaters on a street corner. No one's going to buy Ten Count from SuBLime as long as scanlators make it available for free, which means SuBLime loses on the money they spent to purchase the rights and that Takarai Rihito and her publishing company are also losing out. Just keep that in mind as you're pleading for respect for these people.
i honestly think everything would be easier if people actually stop being selfish and do the right thing ; When they told you ''Dont'' then you Don't do it , and that's it. But no , people have to go and go against the request of the people who translate in this case. It's 100% true that even if they post it in other kind of way , it will eventually get into some website , but even so , im bothered by the fact that people in general don't have the delicacy of actually ''caring'' about what other people wish or think or want , so they go and share it no matter what.
It's like gossiping. And don't get me wrong , i want to read all these chapters just as much as the next person but i think people are just being selfish by not caring about what the person who actually translates things , that's the problem that i have.
I must say you have a point. I'm reading it for free which means the actual authors hard work and effort goes down the drain. Which is why when I can, I buy a volume or two... Or three ( if I like the book).
And it's also the reason why whenever a scanlator wants to stop for whatever reason, I respect it.
Cause you know the scanlators also don't get paid and if found out they could get in a ton of trouble.
But I think we should encourage everyone on this site who hasn't bought a single Yaoi that they read (because maybe age or something, I know how that felt) to buy Yaoi or any entertainment you didn't pay for, one day.
Why hate on scanlators when you're on a website that basically runs on the what scanlators do? Never said what they're doing is right, but if I get to read Japanese comics because someone's willing to translate it to a language I understand, I'll take it. The thing is, unlike you who live in the US, there are people who have no access to licensed manga. I'd buy all the yaoi I can if it were available in my country and if it were fucking easy to get it but guess what? It isn't. So I'm grateful people are translating them and sharing them with others.
Also, saying they're the same as people selling pirated DVDs is WRONG because HEY, THEY DO IT FOR FREE, remember? And isn't the reason this manga is popular internationally also because PEOPLE FIRST READ SCANLATIONS?

yes that is basically the reason why other people read scanlations because its not available in their country heck if it was available I would buy all the yaoi I can read but no its not available here the only thing that I found is a single copy of sekaiichi hatsukoi but its only in vol 3 -__- but I still bought it though ╮(￣▽￣)╭
