I like that MC isn't too enthusiastic or underwhelming with regards to her motivations and actions. Despite the generic plot, I like that her character feels organic, making the story feel substantial.

Right? Everyone hate “Eris”, and she has to deal with that even though she hasn’t done anything to deserve it. She’s alone, in an unknown world. Anyone would feel scared, isolated. And even so, she’s still doing a good job.
