yah it's literally fucked up, but I did finish reading it because I enjoy toxic shits (doesn't mean that I would tolerate it in real life lol). But basically Leyla, having abandonment issues, kind of believe that at least the Duke stayed with her (but this realization came around ending, the whole time she had nothing but hatred with the Duke). When Matthias finally decided that to make her happy is to let her go with Kyle, that's when she started longing for him... So, you know, a literal case of Stockholm syndrome hahaha
