I was wondering why the fingers-in-the-mouth approach, from Seungho's part. Since I don't understand the speech bubbles, it got me speculating: why would he want to mix the pleasure Na-kyum feels in his lower region with the particular, simultaneous sensation of placing something in his mouth? Soooo... maybe this is in preparing for 69 in another venue (less likely, bj). OR: it is yet another power play, since I gather that Seungho is asking some questions and Na-kyum is mumbling the answers. And I think there was some bargaining for Seungho to stop, before, so maybe that's it?
In chapter 34, pp. 6-7/12:
[...]
''You should stay right here until you've recovered properly.''
''... don't go wandering off by yourself.'' .... - as we're shown the old man's face... with an eye that's healing from a hit. My heart, man, my heart :(
His face is drawn without that olive patch in the next scenes.

We've descended way too far.
1) the outings, so far; I'm going to entertain the thought that the stark differences are due to the character's lenses through which we're being shown the outside world beyond Yoon's estate. There was a bleak, static, almost inanimate (cold) city street with merchants, when the teacher was there. Also, some ephemeral, fleeting scenes of ships in a port, all nice and ready to go, when a scared-out-of-his wits Na-kyum was there. I'm talking about the moment when Na-kyum wanted to fled. Even when the teacher was in that man's yard (washing/dyeing? pieces of clothing), it felt life-less, like the characters were there strictly for use. The people around the merry or sobbing Janwe (<=?) redlocks and co. feel like... furniture. Like the invisible hands that catered. BUT. In this new scene and chapter, there's a very vibrant city to be seen, the streets are brimming with life, there are both men and women! and children! that are somehow individuated, they do their thing but it's... pleasant. I'd feel this is seen through Seungho's lenses: his readiness in embracing/accepting any social standing, his ease to be anywhere, then the elder servant's lenses : being among all these mixed people (though, for him, maybe there's also shame? There's something about the talk outside the shop with the tailor& the other 2...) maybe similar to him, while he's well aware of what's oh so naturally happening in the shop... And through Na-kyum's lenses: these people feel... FREE. To move, to be around, to play & be worry-free, like those 2 children... It's like a breath of fresh air, esp. away from that pair of doors he can't get pass.
2) I had this surreal image of a Seungho skipping with joy on their way home, after the shop's umm... tailoring.
3) Backtracking a bit: a sleep-deprived, old trauma-shaken Seungho sees, after he'd just been readily rejected some hours prior, a head-bowing meek, convalescent Na-kyum... THAT SEES his teacher TO THE DOOR, to the very last droplet of conversation and sight of the man - that is an intimate, loving gesture. Of course irky, anger-management issues LORD gets sword-cranky. Also. The conversations of the teacher either with Na-kyum, in the yard, or with that old white haired servant way back, in the house - all those were within hearing range, Yoon was very much close enough to hear. Well... as if he didn't anticipate the teacher's moves... when Seungho strikes, it will be majestic.
That's it, let's get some ZZZzzzzs now
In the off-chance the author is reading this, I'm willing to trade reading her astrological chart with reading her current work (until I get a job and am capable of justly paying for it; the readings could pour 'til she says ''Stop''). Don't know if that's even something she'd consider, but that's what I could think of, at the moment.
And
a
one,
and
a
two:
- I love how a simple gesture could have meant so many other things - their cuddle. Na-kyum is being held over the blanket by Seungho. This is, at the same time: very cute and comforting (almost postPTSD), for S., but confusing, uncomfortable and new, for N. It is both an intimate and, given their story, a controlling gesture. Had it been an embrace under the blanket, it wouldn't have had the same weight: it would have been too involved for their current relationship, too weak on S.'s part, even... artificial. But exactly like this... it evokes S.'s NEED to grab hold of N., to have him so he doesn't run, but also to protect him, while he's exposed. It's both strong and weak and I love it.
- again - a simple pose that speaks volumes: N. plopped in his room. What is his role in this story, what was that all about, how to take in all of this? Btw, I'm sensing some questions from N.'s part about this, or even some negotiations of some sort, things have shifted too much. The night ended with, once again, an unfinished painting. But mainly Na-kyum seems at odds with being idle. Spidey senses no 2: overpowered S. may have an equally observant and powerful nemesis that eyes Na-kyum... and maybe frees him? or makes it possible, only to see Seungho squirm.
To be seen.
- those dazed eyes and the tiny little droplet of drool in the corner of Na-kyum's mouth ... is a sight to bask in. And the world stood still, and all was well, for a moment.
1) What's up with that statement in ch. 33 from one servant in the kitchen, did Na-kyum go missing for several days? I thought he'd returned within a few hours...
2) Na-kyum could easily put poetry next to his paintings, since those melodic, sensually expressive words were his subconscious posing as Yoon (when he was dreaming)
Again, there's a new hand in the process (artist, helper?), Na-kyum's face is drawn differently in the latest chapter. Am I complaining? No, since this is still a wonderful art piece, in my book, its essence, on all planes, is still strong.
And I sure hope the fairy translator comes by, that helped with the detailed explanation of the previous chapter, and sheds some light on what was being said in chapter 35.
A second wish is paycheck-related, so that I can finally, legitimately make this manga ''mine'', but that's for another story.
Spoiler-ish, but with no major repercussions
In the latest raw chapter, it's the first full moon we can see since the very beginning of this manga (only waning and waxing moons so far, everything was unsettled, a tumultuous back and forth). So things should culminate, perhaps :), come to fruition somehow, be revealing, yet it's so early in the story and there are so many things to be mended, it seems far fetched... Eh, just putting it out there.
At that first full moon the lord hears the painters background and even sheds blood as coercion, to force Na-kyum to reveal himself as the author and to further paint; it would be a nice loop to put an end to the forced painting, at this latter full moon, at least that. Hopefully there's no more blood shedding. Coercion, well... that's Yoonho's bread and butter.
I find it adorable how Na-kyum being covered with Seungho's robe - albeit out of necessity- looks similar to a high-ranking lady's dress-up when outside the house, it's as if he's Seungho's darling :)
My damn disgrace of a thumb missed the like button
I apologise
Whyy youuu!!!
I'm kidding, it's ok :) ╭(⌒▽⌒)
