WHOLESOME. sure hes a bit dumb in that fiasco but HES A CHILD. ALSO the way alicia notices that kai barged into her and her maid when they got flooded with gems and gifts while to give her something??? SWEET. alicia wore the pearls to the celebration the next day is also a very sweet move. sure it comes in handy to create impromptu sobstory but she wore it bc kai gave it to her.
second, alicia with the whole being an advisor thing. to my comprehension, what shes trying to prevent is her brothers fated death. she wanted to escape that life before and leave kai alone by marrying lancelot, but once she figure out ares, her goal shifted to rather garner more power and build ares and kai a relationship to diminish the chance of ares beheading kai.
it just so happens ares has crazy hots for her so i guess thats already one thing to cross off the list of how kai is going to die.
third, kai not telling alicia that he was subtly being treated rather badly ish!!! but alicia noticed shupens manipulation and then duke hawthorne's controlling tendencies nevertheless....sibling sync

he didnt chose to have a snake of a mother. i hate and blame the king for the rift between him and linden. loving siblings' competitions to inherit as a plot is really an element of heartwrenching purpose and thats it. it could be solved if the supposed monarch/father figure of the story just man up and declare an heir issue. but 'hand tied behind my back' is always a go for. itd be really painful to see the 2 brothers clash swords. i hope elise somehow not forget mil and how he stood by her side unconditionally, even before she had a talent, a docile nature, the image of perfect wife, and a purpose to serve the society, he was already her only ally.
subtle angst, healthy rivalry, adequate backstory, the attraction make sense, a little push and pull attraction, and the FL is so easy to fall in love with. i admire people like her irl, ironclad virtues, crazy independent, but also a family person. reminds me of my late aunt. a fighter she was
she messed with his sanity and gaslit the entire kingdom who already has bad perception of him into vilifying him more. i feel bad for ingrid bc she must have been subjected to objectification and sexualisation but she did the utmost effort into subduing regan into a corner until he literally just.....gave up on having any control over his life and she proceeded to guilt trip him with the sex. i wouldnt say shes harmless whether she notice or not, her entire marry me game is psychotic and the relationship is a major red flag.
if sexes were reversed this would be called abuse and this would practically be the entire plot of shakespeare's taming of the shrew, minus the manipulative sisters plot.

the only happy ending i see now is if ingrid finally be with her old love hector because it would be a fuck you to feudalism based aristocracy, her father and brother, and tbh hector DESERVES A HAPPY ENDING.as for regan i just want him to....be happy doing whatever. although i doubt after this relentless manipulation ingrid ensnared him into, i bet he develops a bit of stockholm syndrome and would probably be devastated if ingrid is happy with anyone other than him.

i feel like...if i ship helios with medea i wouldve been projecting my expectations towards 2 characters. its like watching 500 days of summer for the first time ever without the adequate perception.
medea raised and groomed helios to be the head of his noble house, i assume, while having ulterior motives. sure its an initial intention and they come off as good companions to each other. but medea raised heli so she can have a backer in high society. their relationship is toppled-down with no balance whatsoever with medea being the only person having control in it. helios i assume from his personality, doesnt mind being used like that but then again its not somewhat....healthy???
with psyche however, i pictured the classic rival to lover trope. its just that....theyd be equals in the relationship, and they have so much to share with each other, a lot of things to fill each other where they lack. the relationship is up for future developments. and itd be nice for change if heli and psyche find someone whose intention comes with no strings attached in each other, given what theyve been through.
just my 2 cent but helios and psyche sounds kinder to all the characters.
im not saying medea isnt worthy of finding love, but its just that i dont see her being romantically involved with helios.

this is the first isekai x vilainess story i read that goes down the game of throne thing. i love seeing power plays and political schemes. i hope the author goes in depth to showcase her mind (given that shes a glorified strategist, i mean, a plotter) i dont want easy schemes, i want her to look extra careful and brilliant with power struggles!!!! looking forward to more!!!
