at first when this first came out in here i thought kenneth (the warrior duke) was going to be the ML instead of arwin (chief mage) bc i caught a rival to lovers chemistry but i was wrong and it felt odd. but turns out the whole thing is very much chaotic and has almost no order to the plots so i just get on with it haha
you make excellent points. however i dont actually feel any chemistry yet between latte and arwin and attraction from latte's standpoint was majorly physical and superficial. i dont even know if she likes him or not, shes always been so eager to avoid problems and arwin is the definition of problems. and having arwin be the love interest is rather convenient since there would be a logical explanation for him to show up in time to safe her whenever wherever. its just that personality wise, i didnt expect kenneth (not latte) to still be swayed by ibelin so far into the story to this point. i thought he would have been suspicious, sceptic, or anything, and i thought he was that character who would be like "oh dang protag is 1dimensional, latte is more amusing and i see friendly dynamics coming from her instead of ibelin" haha but that would strengthen your argument on kenneth being the obvious trope.
im not taking a stand for or against anything yet since the story is rather slow paced and i think theres still much room for development so i guess we'll see
this is so long though im sorry!!!
idg why people are hating on her. she wanted a 1 night stand, she got it. end of story. she was professional bc ML is the one signing her paychecks, of course she doesnt want to get tangled with a superior, she doesnt want his money. her reluctancy to build a relationship is understandable for me too there are too many things thats too unpredictable in a chaebols life, she wouldnt want that for her or the future baby.
i appreciate the ML for being the least pushy korean webtoon ML out there, at least his wordings when he guilt tripped her into going out with him was considerate and well thought and still polite
. im pro choice, and beside being one, i also am in the side of people who thinks that a mans contribution in life conceiving is just limited to ejaculating. after fertilization, theres nothing the man can do except to support and listen to the carrier. i understand the ML's goodwill, but i also understand and commend the MC's choices, because shes not wrong!
something to take into consideration, that may or may not be applicable in situations parallel/similar to this: dont ever tell a single mother irl to "just go with the baby daddy already" just....dont
i read the 2 books when i was in middle school, and the last in high school. im now 20 something and artezia really reminds me of tris prior. THEY WERE READY TO THROW THEMSELVES AWAY FOR A CAUSE. no self worth whatsoever. no sense of danger. not seeing death and violence as a threat. tris in allegiant and insurgent was so willing to die due to her survivor's guilt after losing both her parents. and albeit not being as extreme, artezia had been limbless and voiceless in so many sense, so whats another beat or ten would do to her right??? so glad for the grand duke to have communicated so well with her
her first goal was the greater good, but in the end she sacrificed herself for her brother, her family, and for love. It was a stubborn move that ended her life but I don't think she would have regrets and neither would our mc here either if she did the same for the duke further down the line. Although Im sure that won't happen but still they're totally the same type of person. xD
chapter 65 proves my point in a former comment. ares accepted alicia to be his army advisor because he wants to keep her close, not bc of her skill on weaponry. alicia wants them to be business partners, but ares already saw her as "his" woman. rereading again, i feel like ares was drawn to alicia because she amuses him. her road to faux engagement scheme was an entertainment for him, while it was a matter of survival for alicia.
i hope this turn of events will clear things up for ares and make him see alicia for her worth as a professional, not the princess he happened to had 1 night stand with. maybe in that way their relationship can be more genuine.
on one note lancelot is very considerate to have subtly hinted that ares shouldve paid more attention to alicia instead of ruining his and her reunion by being all intimidating and pressuring.
but for someone who was literally shaped and molded in studies and politics since the young age how stupid is she flying over to the her origin kingdom like that on a fricking dragon. and she practically came to her origin kingdom to declare "im alive, the dragon is invincible, he took over the next kingdom over yonder" thats basically an intrinsic threat baby boo, what are you doing (/TДT)/ being naive and being dumb really has blurry lines
being a woman is best when you can rely on other women and vice versa. i cried reading the college flashbacks. it felt so good and this author is successful in delivering raw emotions from women bonds wow
