I started reading this on Lezhin and I've purchased upto Chapter 46. The latest chapter and finale is Chapter 52.
I think it was worth buying this. I am happy with my purchase because I know I will be reading it several times.
I need to read it several times, and you will need to do that too. This is not your typical cookie cutter BL. You need to read this slowly, and actually process each chapter. It's intense, very dense, very carefully crafted.
The density of this webtoon has made the follow up of each chapter more enjoyable, because I haven't been binging it, I'm able to process the chapters and further understand all the layers of the recurring themes.
This webtoon IS confusing, so proceed carefully... You won't have any problems if you have at least OK reading comprehension skills and actually enjoy analyzing, reading in between the lines, plot over smut stuff... But it's so interesting and eye opening.
This webtoon is also very obscene, and it has so many layers. It has taboo themes like the exploitation of people for profit in the entertainment industry, suicide, pedophilia, how people who do bad stuff can be good people, the reality of some idols who are manufactured in S. Korea and other asian countries, and so on...
I don't know how it ends, but I can already tell it's gonna be bittersweet.
I would recommend reading this if you're into the angst, mystery, suspense, and horror... Not horror as in, kidnapping or ghost, but as in the terrible things that are actually going on with people in the world.
I'm writing this after it's been months since I have last read Chapter 46. I will post another review when I re-read the entire series and analyze it properly.
Sometimes people who love each other shouldn't be together. It's a hard reality I only came to terms with recently... Love is not enough to make a relationship work. It's like when parents say "oh we only need love to raise our child" well no... You need to provide for said child, educate yourself on how to better the quality of life of said child, take care of them with knowledge and not just instinct, etcetera. Imagine instead of a child, it's a relationship. Sometimes people are not ready to be together and they might never be ready. Some people don't have the life skills, tools to make it work. Sometimes past mistakes can't be amended. It happens, it's part of life. Love is not the answer to all problems.
