Art 5/5. Superb art style. Modern. Good definitions. Beefed up men, with good proportions. Not sure if the lovesticks are redrawn by the scanlation groups, but they're great and perky! Sex scenes were pleasantly nasty - without the overuse of SFX and too much schlopt schlopt. I enjoyed how the art was handled.
Characters 5/5. Excellent delivery of characters. They stayed true to their personalities, a novelty in omegaverse stories. Well defined characteristics in each person.
Relationship Development 4/5. I'm taking a point off because it was rushed how Shion came to accept Yuujin, and how Yuujin came to be in love with Rei when he was just interested in Rei. I would've liked to see a smoother and deeper development in their feelings for one another, but the hanky panky covers up for it.
The Plot 4/5. Sigh.
Let me put it this way: Premise 5/5. Story 5/5. Ending 2/5.
The story is just GREAT! It's SO compelling and enticing from the very beginning. The premise is amazing and it was well delivered. However.....
I'm disappointed.... this could've been dragged out several volumes... the premise was so good.... why did it end like that....
The angst of loving his best friend's fated partner?
Rei's relationship with his parents?
Coming of age as an omega in an alpha school?
Alpha uncle x Alpha Yuujin power struggle?
Overuse of inhibitors, heat suppressors, and its side effects?
Maybe throw in a love triangle at the office once they grew up?
WHAT ABOUT SHION? WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WITH SHION'S MATING??
So much potential.... wasted....

The Art. I wasn't feeling it at the beginning, but as the story progressed it grew on me. Although simple, the elongated bodies and limbs are very much a characteristic of Psychological thrillers and add to the mystery and darkness of the story. If you can't tolerate the art, I really recommend sticking through with the story anyway.
The Characters. The author leaves a lot of space for readers to make their own judgement about what characters think and why they do what. This can be a bit confusing midpoint through the story, but it just makes it all the more satisfying and worth it. Something about the characters that you can't really understand leaves you yearning for more.
The Relationship Development. Due to the nature of this work, I struggle to call it "relationship development" but following the modus operandi of my previous reviews, i'll stick with it. I have to say that whatever messed up dynamic this "couple" had, it progressed beautifully (in its own category). A true work of art, the depth of emotion for each character and the intentions behind their actions really stood out as outside the box thinking. If you're able to grasp the clever storytelling and psychology behind the characters, you'll fall in love with this relationship dynamic!
The Plot. Really, this is the selling point for me. I thought I would get bored, it can become tedious if I'm not following the plot closely, but I'm glad I continued reading it. I wouldn't recommend binging this, give yourself time to process the emotions and read back and forth as much as you need to. This story is a gem in the BL world, from beginning to end, an overall linear plot with few twists... and how rare, the ending was absolutely brilliant (specially for a psychological bl). A classy plot, with beautiful foreshadowing and use of many other literary devices. Look out closely for those literary devices, they'll tie up nicely in the end.
I'm giving this an 8.5/10 rating. Just taking -1 off from the art, some body proportions could be improved. Then -0.5 from the characters. I would of loved to get just a bit more insight into Clark's mind.
Worth it? Absolutely, a must read!

Hello everyone! Just some clarifications -
This series has an official English translation, you can purchase it on L***zhin!
We are a scan group, and we post our own version of the translation.
- we picked up this project before it was licensed, when it got licensed we decided to continue this series in memory of a founding teammember who passed away.
ULS finishes on Ch 58, but don’t worry!
After we finish the original series - We will translate, uncensor, and republish the series using the mature version raws. We will also publish the side stories, author’s notes/blog posts, and other extras.
Yes!!! There is a digital version of the 19+ original story. It will not be published by L***zhin (I don’t know why), but you can purchase it on ridibooks.
You can see a preview of what actually went down on Chapter 40, mature version, here:
