The entire family punching the air and throwing a party rn
Can't say I blame him. Quite literally Sigrid drove him into thinking she doesn't even trust him when Arkana had to be the one to tell him what is going on WITH HER.
What bugs me is, most probably her friends are going to blame Veramood and she won't do anything to clear their misunderstandings and with how things are going, she won't confess because "I WiLl ProTeCt HiM ThiS WaY".
I like her. She's gets to the point and is cunning. Not something I see often in FLs. I really hope the brother is not evil and when we eventually get to the point she runs away it doesn't dwell to much on misunderstandings and the duke won't be a toxic arse.
Lariessa is like the past Ariadne. Just lost in trying to please and latch herself onto the only person that gives her attention.I really liked how Alphonso was firm in his words. He didn't led her on. I'm tired of people talking about Cesare when he's the same trash he was in the past life and IT FREAKING SHOWS.
Anyway, this is kinda moving at snail pace. I think I'll pause it until the plot decides to move.
I kinda don't like her. I liked her at the beginning, but she's reaching that dreaded territory of "too pure to understand love" which "surprisingly" only affects FL and only makes them seem dense.
It's called age of arrogance but everyone except her is showing "arrogance". She's quite literally the only character that seems one-dimensional. I even like more the catty blonde or the empress at this point.
I can't believe this is my takeaway, but here it goes. You start rightfully loathing the duke. The guy freaking r*pes MC. But it's so badly handled in the storytelling that at one point, just like the characters, you don't care/forget. It also helps that the MC is freaking annoying. This manhwa is the epitome of "you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain". The story was way too stretched and senseless drama kept being added and dragged by no other than the MC. At one point you just want him gone. It would have been simpler for everyone involved. 100 chapters of misunderstandings and a wishy washy character that can't make up his mind is WAAAY too long for a mid story at best.
It was BAD. It took me 3 freaking weeks to go through the extras. It could have been good had the author either not made the ML a psycho yandete or had they committed to the psychological genre. Instead, you have a romcom with the insertion of a yandete that fucks up the plot, the characters are aware of their lives being fucked up by the psycho but conveniently decide to ignore it for NO REASON AT ALL. You even get the character the emperor kills as a driving force for ALL the characters yet they chose to ignore it was his fault Daniel died. Story wise it made no sense at all. It just leaves you frustrated and questioning the void why oh why did you waste your time on this.
Well, at least there's someone with a working braincell here.
TBH I'm not liking Sigrid this last chapters. Her actions don't make sense. She was oblivious, yes, but she wasn't stupid and she had started to communicate. Heck, she even told them about her going back in time, but she can't talk about poison???? It feels like when authors don't know how to follow with a plot line so they start with forced "misunderstandings" which only stretch the story but makes the characters lose their essences. The story had a lot of lines and conflicts to follow and solve. Why add this unnecessary drama?
I think there's a missing chapter? Still, I hope we get to see Alphonso's dark side after Lariessa put him in the spot like that. We had glimpses but I really want to see him stand up for himself and maybe be a little mean
Why was Arkana the one having the Braincell moment and telling Veramood??? And why is Sigrid having key intimate moments with Arkana? I really liked the start. Her being socially inept was not detrimental to her life but she did make effort to gain some basic skills that would have prevented her from falling in the same patterns from her previous life. She understood she needed support and that there was value in communication and trust. And now, she's just throwing everything away? These actions are from previous life Sigrid. It makes no sense to make her this stupid so late in the game
I still don't understand why Veramood can't be informed. He has been concerned about her but he has also trusted her judgement. Him knowing could only be an advantage for her
The only thing I will forever dislike about this otherwise perfect story is that Tenmei should have fucking died. He left Itsuki there to be raped. He could have been killed. The treatment of omegas and the aftermaths of their attacks was something brought up, and that a named character that actively made an attack on a MC just gets away with it rubs me the wrong way.
Was Knox next to Lionel when they were going out to the tower or is it a similar character? And can the emperor be any more idiotic? He quite literally had a front row seat to her destroying singlehandedly a tower yet he thinks she won't be able to handle it
I really don't know why I keep reading. I know I'm going to get angry when she inevitably ends up with the emperor. But I wonder how they are going to do it. Are they going to make the duke evil somehow? Are they just going to relegate him to 2nd lead syndrome? In this kind of story, where the ML is trash, have authors never heard of "better alone than in bad company"? There's nothing wrong on not having a romantic partner. Or at least waiting for someone that's not literally trash. Why do they keep trying for the irredeemable arse?
Why do they always have to make the Japanese the bad/sneaky guys??? (No, this is not a prompt for a history lesson I'm just freaking tired of seeing Japanese character in Manhwa and immediately knowing they are not to be trusted because the plot will make them sneaky in some way or another)
It's a story that would have been ok had it been released at the very least 10 years ago. The leads have the same relationship dynamics from '00s/ early '10s where the FL could have been replaced with a cute plushie the ML could dump all their emotional baggage and grow from it. And the FL was never developed nor useful at all. Like quite literally Zay is as a person, useless. She's a catalyst but that's not what a MC should be. When they go against the bad guy, for some reason she rides all the way to Aseph only to put herself in danger and so getting Aseph injured. She's not even good at that! In the end I ended up liking more the Prince and Elissa.
But one thing I didn't quite like was how childish Elissa was. And that's when I remembered they both are way too young and never fully prepared for anything. Elissa found herself empress when her character doesn't show any aptitude for the role. And Zay is practically a highschooler that cried so much for her idol and got transported to their world. It gave girls shaving their hair thinking Justin Bieber had cancer vibes.
I guess, my biggest issues were 1. The return of the weak, pure FL 2. The infantilization of the two main female characters.
What I like of her interactions with the emperor is how very confused she is by his audacity. Like, she really just seats there appalled by the dollar store Carlisle
I like that they are moving the romance line along with the other ones. I hate it when it gets relegated until the last episodes and it feels kinda rushed.
