And being helpless with her new life and unsure of her ability, surely she wont know any spells or way to help the kid literally. All she can is to find food for him and I think thats A for effort.
Thats why it made sense for her to go outside to explore and find others to help her

well i'm not gonna saying that they "abandon her right away" but you know how the story usually pull the trick. so in one scene reynolds misunderstood penelope, he accused penelope doing something to ivonne(duh the disappointment that i felt). i mean the progress they have seems so blur rn haha.

on the other side, the duke is idk he's protecting penelope but didn't say anything so in the end penelope misunderstood him (i'm not gonna saying that he's bad, but feel calm bcs he's still planning what the best for penelope coming of ege ceremony. even if the "real" daughter is come back)

FINALLY. They are both a bit unwell in their head but that makes sense. So sick of these stories having the FL stay pure, naive and innocent as if living in those conditions won't wear you down over the time. Why would they put ML through this character development arc when his past actions were reasonable???? Like imagine having a stalker who freely manipulate you socially, politically, and economically???? ogFL was creepy af and everytime there's a flashback, i'm skipping because i got pissed off at ogFL. It's a blessing that ML could have feelings for the current FL now because if i were him, i would have plotted her death 24/7.
