Rereading this I still think it's very good
They didn't start off very well (Mine for sure was not ok with take being there)
But their relationship developed really well
I think what people are not getting is that Take and Hiroi's relationship isn't romantic, but that doesn't mean it's not deep, on the contrary, they're so close they push the boundaries of platonic
Meanwhile Hiroi and Mine's is 100% romantic, they're super lovey dovey and cute
And Take and Mine's is primarily sexual, they have great bed compatibility and later on get on better terms in general
I really enjoy this bc they work very well together
Sure sure, it's kinda fucked up how Hiroi wants to share everything with Take, but becomes unsatisfied if a lover becomes equally interested in him
And Take himself is so attached to Hiroi that he'll completely lose interest on someone that isn't revolving around Hiroi as much as he does
And THAT'S why Mine is actually perfect for them
He and Take agree that Hiroi is their center, but know that one will never overtake the other or choose each other over Hiroi
Idk, I just find how the three of them fit together so cute
They seem fucked up, but to be honest, they ended with a very healthy poly relationship lol

Maybe I'm in denial, but after reading it again I don't think this means he's toxic right away
He clearly doesn't understand some basic human interactions and his anatomy is also weird
Maybe (and that's a huge maybe)
He's like a teenager who realizes for the 1st time someone likes him bc he's attractive to them and it's like "wow I'm kinda awesome"
And the spit thing I'm thinking it's his weird anatomy at play here
He could be mixed with zombies and fluids are weird to him?
I know I'm reaching and he's giving off major red flags, but I guess I need more confirmation, this feels like a trap and the author is hidden in the corner, silently giggling at us

The thing that bothered me about the side stories was how they fell to the trope "using sex as leverage to resolve their relationship issues"
Ash clearly loves Lyle a lot and obviously wouldn't hurt him, it was just weird to see him, who was shown and proven to be so articulate before, use sex to get something out of Lyle
That's my irk with the side story

Maybe it's too early to tell, but we can assume the dude manipulated mc's whole life
And it's beyond unhinged
I like the art, but this has a very weird undertone that I can't get pass
It's like a psychological horror trying to disguise itself as a cute romcom
If the author went all the way and made this a creepy story, I'd probably like it better

It's really interesting to me how the author managed to portray someone who's trying their best to become a better person, but ends up circling back to toxic dynamics
The mom is a fascinated character to me
As readers, most of us don't like her that much
She's protective, but in an excessive way, to the point of overbearing and controlling at times
There's no doubt she loves Lyrica, but somehow that doesn't seem to be enough to make her a good mother
She's quite literally derailing the political scenario to protect Lyrica and yet we still end up with the feeling she's not getting "better" fast enough
It's so curious to me that she's got both heroic and villainous traits and constantly dances between the two roles
This chapter is a perfect example, thinking so hard on all the wrong waya to make Lyrica "safe"
I thought she was on the way to redemption, but probably the path won't be as straightforward as I believed lol
I think things we'll keep escalating and eventually Lyrica will butt heads with her mother directly, bc each has their own idea of what "being safe" means
But that's just a theory

This chapter felt like a knife twisting in someone's guts
I don't even think it could be called Penelope getting "revenge" on Eclis
This wasn't carefully planned, she doesn't even have a revenge plan, but it did feel like vindication
Not bc "justice" was served, but simply bc Penelope made him see exactly what were the consequences of his own actions
They both could have benefited from each other, Penelope was perfectly reasonable when she chose Eclis over all the other options, bc it made sense survival-wise
He ruined it all on his own, and his delusional self needed to see that
I pity him bc it's always sad to see someone taking deliberate steps to their own ruin
But I don't think he deserves any less
In the end dude got freedom, he isn't a slave anymore, got citizenship, kept his sword and the possibility of ascension
If anything, he can become a pretty annoying antagonist (if he manages to keep his sanity)
I have no idea how the story goes, but I hope he gets exactly what he deserves in the end
Fun fact I just noticed:
The characters don't have detailed ears
Which is funny bc Dante has great hearing lol
