People, I know your frustration as again an other bi/pan erasure but you also need to remember this is a Japanese work, and Japan while it made some progress over the years, is way behind LGBT or rather has a different view of it. If you want a good exemple, I’m pretty sure y’all know about the famous okama-san, since cross dressing characters are also a classic thing in BL.
But the thing is, while you see a lot of men dressed with women clothes in yaoi, there’s never real talk about trans people. Because it doesn’t « exist », drag queen, trans women, cross dresser. It’s all one in the same and put in the same category.
I’m gonna assume they kinda have the same outlook on sexuality where basically if you date someone of the same gender you’re gay, if you date someone of the opposite gender, you’re straight.
Correct me if I’m wrong tho.

Okay so like, I understand at least you having 6 kids is really just bad luck.
First man, she was young and naive. Thought she could do it, got worn down. I get it.
Second husband, she got the twins thinking she found a good husband that would not make her work to death to support him and could instead help support the family, but tadam, he turned an abusive asshole and she did great to divorce him. If he was abusive on her, he could have been abusive on the kids too later (especially the one that wasn’t his).
Later on she thought she found the perfect husband. He got a good stable job, is a very sweet man and apparently a good dad who genuinely like her other kids. What a woman with already 3 grown ass kids could ask for? They had triplet and ouch, that’s tough luck, but since the others were older maybe with two parents it was manageable and with both of them working at least they would still manage it financially probably.
But then he died. Which is the worst luck of all.
And honestly I can’t really blame the mom up to this point, she probably spent all of her time working her ass off because she had 6 kids to take care of at least financially.
But like, uke’s mom, the seven kid? Really??? When your eldest is already having it this rough and has to work for his exams? REALLY? YOU ALREADY HAD A KID WITH THAT MAN WHO WAS YOUR ELDEST AND INSTEAD OF CHERISHING THAT ONE YOU PUT MORE BURDEN ON HIS SHOULDERS DURING ONE ON THE MOST DIFFICULT TIME OF A TEEN’S LIFE?! Plus not like having another kid will change anything to his fate, so like??? Bruh??? Having him reconcile with his already born son should have been enough of a feat already !
And that’s not even talking about how they were already in a financially tight situation which a new born baby and a soon to be dead painter who’s only barely starting to get well known would not help at all.
