Why is this so weird? And why do I love it? ╥﹏╥

The brother seriously needs to stay out of his sister’s business and the gold creep should disappear.

I kinda like how stupid this is. It’s kinda refreshing.

I read all the chapters we have on here but I still have no clue what is going on. The main couple is just sad.

All the FL does is cry and never speaks up for herself. She assumes everyone knows how she’s feeling and that she is the only person miserable. She’s like the personification of depression. All she does is apologize and cry. She rarely gets angry and even when wronged she finds a way to forgive. This got annoying after the first few times. Apologizing is the only thing she knows how to do. It pissed me off when she assumed she could just do a 180 and everything would be alright with her son. She neglected her son because she had no one there for her. This part of the plot could’ve been done better in my opinion. She’s just a sad excuse of a character. She literally comes back from the dead and still lets people walk all over her. She doesn’t use her knowledge from her past life at all. She is just so foolish and naive. I’m happy she told him that she hated him though. That part was great.

All the ML does is keep the FL caged up until she can’t take it anymore. He is legitimately insane. He’s so caught up in his own pain that he refuses to see anyone else’s pain. I felt bad for him for like a second. I always ended up asking ‘What is wrong with him?’ every time he said/did anything. He made me so angry. I had so much hope for his character but it feels like possessive tendencies is all his personality is. All he wants is to posses her. He doesn’t truly love her. I felt like the plot line where it’s revealed he isn’t the true heir of the ducal family was unnecessary. It literally added nothing and was just used to waste time. I thought he was going to be one of the cool male leads that loved his wife and son wholeheartedly, but I instantly lost hope of that after his third time ignoring their feelings and doing whatever he wanted.

This was very promising but it felt like somewhere down the line the author had no clue what they wanted to do with the characters. This story would’ve been better if it was from the son’s pov. He is actually one of the few good characters and he’s not even that great.

I'm of the opposite opinion. I quite enjoy it because it's a very realistic slow burn (though the novel does go into more detail than the webtoon, and there's a lot of read-between-the-lines).
I think, in alignment with the general setting of the story, Ercella's behaviour is quite natural, because the reality is---people don't change so easily. Even couples that go to life-changing therapy eventually revert back to their old ways. Both Harisen and Ercella are pretty jaded from the get-go because they went through traumatizing experiences with family death and bad timing in their literal teens. Neither of them are actually all that old in the present time. They're both plenty young and immature---and they both still probably have literal depression.
Though Ercella may have been given a second chance, she never really had the experience (past or present) to act out how she feels because that's how she was raised and how she's lived as a noble, so of course she's going to fail a lot. All of this is new to her. Moreover she only went back a few years in time, and died pretty young. People have always looked down or underestimated her---and even moreso because she's a woman in noble society. That's not going to change overnight even if she wants it to. Their whole society is rooted in chauvanism, among many other things. But I think it's still worth merit that she's trying, despite very little going well for her.
I don't think the author is clueless, although I do understand your sentiments, the pacing can be dreadful. But if this were like any other historic time-travel where she's miraculously strong and successful in her second life I would've personally dropped it. I'm OK with no one being likeable, because I think it's not that kind of story in the first place.
