backstories are actually necessary for the pacing to grow and to get a deep dive into each character’s personas and where their choices lie. this part is also vital because it lets the reader have more insight on the past and builds up more momentum and understanding, the readers will anticipate the present more and when we come back to the present timeline, it gets even juicier. ive read a lot of novels and manhwa/mangas/manhuas in my two decades and a year of living and i gotta say it is only right and NEEDED that theres more portrayal of the past.
and yes, it is common for a good paced story, a GOOD story in general to be kind of long because theres layers to uncover. im still also wondering what cardinal brixton’s part in the past life and why hes keen on keeping ian to his side. literally cannot just finish the manhwa in one go with plot holes and rushed scenes now can we?
It’s just that the backstory have unnecessary details and doesn’t provide important information. Stories with more complex plot have shorter backstories because authors can distinguish between what’s important and what’s not. I think the good compromise here would be to put a short backstory with only the most important information in the main series and make the full version which will likely span a whole season a prequel. Just make it a separate story. Most readers are upset, comment section under raws is filled with complaints of Korean readers too.
i cant wait for the author to give us moments of nara breaking down completely bc he misses the evil tasara so much… and this new version of tasara finally acknowledging nara’s feelings for him and finding out … nara did indeed grow on him….. if it’s possible though the author will include but for now we’re feasting on angst and pain and horny lol
listen i love the pacing and all, but smexy time when
ok there will be smexy time..a lotttt (sorry i accidentally followed)
