God the prince is such a jerk but is such a breath of fresh air in comparison to all the characters who are either smitten with Calliope or absolutely hate her for getting in the way of their plans.
Also, for me, his personality is edging on the “holier-than-thou and smarter than thou” kinda trope where I can already imagine the plot going in certain directions. One example would be he realizes slowly thru more interactions w/ Calliope that he can’t see life w/o her bc while she is also fun to tease, she’s super smart and kind hearted and completes him in someway.
