i honestly love this story and how its written. you can hate the characters but u need to agree the story telling and portraying of the characters is really done well. "ML is toxic" at least his character is written well and is consistent. hes not like some copy paste seme thats rude to everyone except uke that 90% of the BLs have. I like the uke too, hes an asshole but hes realistic. hes not all sunshines and rainbows shounen protag-justice seeking weak mc.

Damian is probably my favorite "red flag ML". As much as you want to hate him, you can't deny that he's well written and the plot is great compared to many other copy paste toxic MLs with no depth. And honestly i hate the "servant likes their master" trope especially the ones where the master has clearly no interest in the servant. I feel like Gilles took advantage of Chole's kindness to fuel his delusions of getting with her. :/ Yeah he is a "good guy" but he icks me in the wrong way.
