I agree with you! This trope has been around forever that it could honestly be a genre on its own. I feel like Jinx in particular is getting a lot of attention because of its art. It’s getting read by a broader audience that isn’t use to reading toxic stories and isn’t into to them, which is fine. I personally read all genres but do like a more toxic and messy storyline so it doesn’t phase me as much. Doesn’t mean I still don’t heavy sigh when I see the ML being an absolute asshole.

I mean the thing is people had the same energy from Jinx to this. The massive difference is how far the story line went because people was hating on this ml ever since he first raped the mc. Now the ml is trying to do right by him and shown that for a whole season. And besides, this ml never forced the mc to have sex for money and put him in terrible situations to have sex, and actually be possessive of him while ‘not giving af’ about him at the same time. And even then, just because bl usually have it, don’t mean that people have to just like it without commenting.
Nah my comment wasn’t meant to put people off from posting their opinions and like venting their frustrations with the story and it’s characters. My comment was more so for the people who were being very hostile to those who were enjoying the story etc. The jinx comment section is starting to become so hostile with people who (obviously) don’t like the story and are telling people who do to kill themselves and other things along those lines. It wasn’t to defend anything, I’m very aware of the differences between both stories and I criticize them as well and don’t perpetuate those standards and dynamics with anyone in reality and of course I understand where some are coming from it just sounds redundant when they also tell you to kys with it lmaoo.
