It's because FL is a damn idiot. (she's not the only one though)
What I don't get about her is why she insists that the characters of the game be together for her life to be spared. No one is acting like their game counterparts, even her. Which means there's no reason for her to die for their story progression. Meanwhile, the ones actually threatening her life get closer and closer.
I knew it was the mom and not the dad that messed him up, but the dad is just as guilty because he knew what the mom was doing/did (she's responsible for the drugging of the liquor, too)
For someone who is a victim of rumors, she sure is quick to believe them

Here's something that's not clear: since it isn't a novel and, in fact, a life she lived previously, how does she know what happens to Lucas in her absence??
Our character is kinda stupid (in certain situations) for someone who has lived for 3 years already. Did he not learn anything in that time?
Kidnapping stories are getting overused. He was JUST rescued!
