Imma be absolutely hoenst here... the early chapters had HORRENDOUS art and dialogue. Like, I know you're trying to make it sound authentic as possible but the lines were so corny and unreal it made me cringe everytime they said git or bonkers or fucking what else. The art being inconsistent and disproportionate also didn't help in making me not want to drop this story and hang myself too lmao. Both art and dialogue kinda made the early part of the story unenjoyable as those were crucial for the delivery of the plot and story.

the biggest spoiler i can give you is the one concept im disappointed by the most...
An Zhe has a spore/child right? Wrong lol. That spore is actually him in a new form/life. His old form died, and the spore became the new An Zhe (that's at the absolute ending)
I guess the concept of his spore/reproduction was based off the immortal jellyfish Turritopsis Dhornii, but it was kind of weird since they look like they have separate consciousness and the characters joked that the spore was their child lol.
Sorry but why are you disappointed with that? I was so happy that he came back.
i actually liked the concept of a parent mushroom lol, guess it brought out the feelings of existential dread and character identity crisis for me

I actually liked that part, and i did suspect it since i started reading it after I finished biology II course that mainly talks about fungus and plants, i said to myself the ending cannot stop at him sacrificing himself it must be that those pores are going to be the “new” him, he is kinda immortal in a way

I finished reading the novel a month ago and i thought An zhe was alive again because of the data collected in his spore but i never thought it was actually the new him. T_T That's why it's kinda sus when Lu Feng didn't talk about his spore. Now it all makes sense haha T-T

There was a whole cute banter An Zhe and Lu Feng where An ZHe *cute* throws a tantrum that Lu Feng has killed his spore, because he didn't take proper care of it. Then Lu Feng coaxs him and gives a lot of hint, and finally An Zhe realized that he's the spore.
