The author didnt waste multiple chapters on him "trying new guys" only to realize they don't compare to Dan. We know, he knows, everybody knows! I'm excited to see how the groveling will start!

This couldve been resolved in 1 volume, 2 at most if we want to be generous and add other details. Only chapter 18 moved the plot forward. All of the other chapters in volume 3 could have been summarized in 1!
First it was the forest. The baroness already warned her that it was dangerous and she needs to be with someone. Then she goes into the forest believing its not dangerous because it looks fine. Like really? You think you know more than the locals who were born and raised there?
And now she's going to one-sidedely decide what's best for their relationship by leaving to the capital - in the middle of a war!!! Now she's endangered all of the locals but since we have ML/FL plot armor, I guess we'll be fine. Its still so selfish of her.
