The boss wanted Hyeok. He was attracted to him but that's it. There were no real feelings there. Whatever the boss feels for Da Jeong is mixed up with manipulation and the trauma he has from childhood since his father was a predator and a fucking creep. The boss is psychological fucked up in serious way.
So, in the end, it’s not love. I don’t think there’s a truly satisfying or happy way to conclude this story.
I would agree. But I get the feeling the author is gonna try the "he didn't know how much he loved him until he left" trope.
