I hate when the guys on a story are like "Alright, let's fight and whoever wins gets X girl" like bruh, if the girl already said she didn't want to be with one of them what is the point, winning isn't going to make her automatically like the winner.
But like, props to Tristan, he saw that the princess actually didn't want him to win and lost on purpose though that defeats the point of bringing up a duel in the first place, still he was able to accept that if he won the princess wasn't going to be happy anyway.
