He bought that cloudy liquor at the market and kept talking about how he felt bad about hurting the innocent princess. Then the prince asked for cloudy liquor and acorn jelly for them and the next thing we know the princess seems to scream out in physical pain. The timing adds the emotional pain as well, but my deduction was based on those plot points in previous chapters. Even though the prince drank it too, there was that plot point that talked about how he was like immune to illness and stuff, so it would make sense he was wasn’t affected. I could be totally wrong though, but that’s how I interpreted the cliff hanger.
I thought the teacher would have second thoughts and spare Doram. I don’t know why I even held out hope…
