Rape is absolutely fine to be allowed within works of literature and art. But even if it is the yaoi or any ‘non-acceptable’ genre we need to respect it. Rape is a serious topic no matter what you say and shouldn’t be romanticized. Like this yaoi, it would’ve been cute but instead it just shoves this serious topic under the rug and gives it a happy ending.

If you’re going to introduce a serious topic, then treat it like one. There are many wonderful yaoi works that include rape and have some kind of reference to the traumatic effects it can have.

You wouldn’t be happy if an abuser or bully didn’t get punishment in a manga just because the mc ‘forgave’ them. You’d want them to at least reform or understand what shit they did. So why isn’t it the same for rape?

Sorry for the long emo reply. It’s just more serious than you think. Especially when a lot of viewers here DO come from a very young age group sometimes. Romanticizing rape is not good morally and can humanize it in some people’s eyes. Maybe not yours, but there will be a handful.

Thats why "tags" exists..they need to check before proceeding and there's the comment section. People are CLEALY saying CONTINUOUSLY about how there's rape in the manga sooo...if "the young age group" wish to continue even though its clearly mentioned, thats their fault not the authors.

Oh well in the first place "the young age group" should NOT be here u know seeing as these manga are for mature readers.

Bro like I said there's nothing wrong with rape being in stories but the way that this author chose to portray it was just romanticizing it. It's wrong in many ways not just because of morals but because it's an unhealthy portrayal media that can affect the audience its showing to (which on this site, is yes, minors!). I do believe you're smart enough to not support rape or humanize it, but you need to understand that some people can't. They see rape as a fantastical thing and humanize it to feed their sexual desires especially since the media they're viewing shows it to end up as a good thing!

You should also know that NONE of us should even be reading this. Because we're all on an illegal website. You really can be righteous enough to say that they shouldn't even be here when none of us should.

You also really need to understand that a lot of people don't even look at tags. The most this manga could at least do is put a warning page which it failed to do.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the story. It was different and gay, so I liked it. But the way you make your point makes it seem like rape is ok and acceptable. It isn't and will never be. Being at and committing a horrible crime is VERY different. Please don't ever compare the two.

Yeah but in the horror movie we’re generally looking at the victim’s POV and we don’t want to see anyone die. So it’s not the same as watching a horror movie. Yaoi is also not “unacceptable” it’s just a homosexual form of pornography. It might be “unacceptable” in religious morals but not really universally. The only reason why rape here is unacceptable. Instead of showing us how bad rape is, it instead romanticizes it. It makes us feel as if it was something OK to do.

Other sane people like you or me might understand that it’s not, but others aren’t the same. Having romanticized rape inside any form of media can convince a handful of people to humanize rape as a normal thing. Within that group, it could then lead to future rapists or people who encourage rape in media or people who disregard consent because they think the other person will “enjoy” it anyways

That’s why all us really should be discouraging this. It’s a really unhealthy trope that should only be included in works of fiction for the purpose of education or at least portrayed in a more realistic approach.

I literally said that the WAY you said it. Not that you did say it. Just the tone and way you did say it by comparing it to bring gay made it seem acceptable when there two very different topics. If you compared it to Some thing else like a horror movie, then that would be a lot better.
