First of all, this has an excellent plot. I seldom like transmigration novel and time travels but this really hooked me.
My guess is that Wang Yi used to be a contract partner of Xian when Xian transmigrated through the novels (this is based on a scene/flashback) and when MC desired to become a human and be with the ML the system “punished” them to be separated/never to be together that’s why they “long” for each other. And the memory wherein MC was chained up, I think it was the ML’s attempt to fight against the system. I dunno. This is just a hunch. This is exciting. I wish there’s a novel.
