Illustrators don't have THAT much freedom over someone's work. Changing the love interest would mean changing a huge chunk of the story. It's not going to happen.

Also I'm not sure but I read someone say that in the novel, there is no Anastasius but someguy named Carack (someone from Lucas's past life) who is trying to get revenge on Lucas by hurting Athy (he is the one who put the curse which made Claude forget Athy). He apparently also steals all the fruits of the world tree to prevent Lucas from getting them. On the other hand, the webtoon literally has brought Anastasius back from the dead... so anything is possible. However that said I still don't think Ezekiel will be Athy's love interest.
