This is what gets me. The top from Painter of the Night is a murder who flat out r@pes the bottom ( at least here, Kim Dan kinda agrees to everything) and yet somehow Jaekyung is SO much more unlikable... Sensei’s target audience are people who don’t have mild taste and are into the rape fantasy trope. It’s not about the story, it’s about the sex.

There’s no lasting consequences in two easily-forgotten characters whose sole purpose of this “story” is to fuck in the dirtiest way. You don’t think about the ‘rape’, or whatever happens to them after the sex. It’s the same as every pwp story out there. For example, in netorare— wives cheat on their husbands. We don’t think about the divorce papers or the kids affected by their actions. The main deal is the sex. It’s the same with this. You don’t think about the rape. You fap. And at the end of the day, that’s all it is. It doesn’t make you a shit person, it doesn’t make you pro-rape. It’s porn. And if it doesn’t make you horny, that’s ok too. Different stroke for different folks. Some people like two pretty slender men have sex, others like dirty old mob men fuck a cutie. Echo is targeting a specific audience that doesn’t necessarily have to include you. :v

Porn comics exist. BL mangas aren’t an exception to this rule. Just like hentai, yaoi can just be pure sex. It doesn’t have to come with a meaningful plot. It’s not supposed to send a message about rape being ok or whatever. It’s fap material. The thing that’s supposed to be “hot” about the rape part is the primal need for sex > logic and reasoning. Ok my 2 cents here. I have no problem with yaoi rape (when it is the fictional "I love you and want you so much" from seme - rarely the uke), I am not talking about tragedy or abuse. I understand the erotic / fiction / fantasy element and I have many times argued at the comment section with these silly posts about "omg rape, non con!" while try to explain that this is erotica and a fantasy does not mean that we approve of the event happening in real life, or that sometimes the story is just "fap material" or even that the fictional rape is the embodiment of the deep feelings and have nothing to do with real rape. But I must also say that this story really leave a bad taste in my mouth. There was no attraction from the seme, no seduction, no feelings, and the last page really killed it. He was a serial rapist that just forced him self to drunk juniors without caring for any of them. And the victim could not even speak. I have read many hardcore yaois and baras. With a little or none story, just for the good smut. I really get angry with the sensitive butterflies always complaining under yaoi stories. But this one really was bad. The bad gay drugged and raped innocent boys who just wanted to have a social life. And I understand what you say "it is porn, we do not think about the future for them after the story" but here with the specific last page all the mood was destroyed after seeing that the seme is a criminal bastard and the uke .. we do not know, he is maybe happy? shocked? Traumatized? I mean it is the first time in a yaoi story that this is one that I can call realistic rape (between s & u). The yaoi fluff was removed and it was cold-hard reality there. So I could not enjoy the nice smut

I did say it’s not for everyone :u but I appreciate the fact that you understood what I wrote. I personally wouldn’t call this smut-ridden story as “realistic” rape though, dude’s thoughts were like “I wanna do this forever!”— doesn’t feel real to me at all. But these type of things are actually common in hentai mangas, particularly the mind break tag or just rape turned into a “consensual” fuckfest. Believe me, this is definitely one of those porn stories where we shouldn’t think about what happens afterwards. You even said “we don’t know”, because it doesn’t matter. This was how the author intended it that’s why it’s so short and we never see past the sex scene.

For me, what counts as a realistic rape scene should be stories that treats the topic with care and respect because it’s a serious topic. I’d say check out Dark Heaven or Stigma. Maybe even Harada’s works. You’ll know it’s treated seriously when you can tell by the emotions and facial expressions. Feels inappropriate to call this story that’s obviously made to fetishise rape fantasies as “realistic”.

Also, I know this isn’t exactly a common fetish but being treated terribly can excite others. There’s also fetishes where people get off watching someone crumple in despair as their loved one get taken away and brutally fucked in front of them is also a thing. This story is sorta mild if you check out niche kinks. I personally can’t understand it either but a fantasy is a fantasy. It’s not for everyone, as I’ve said.

I understand the separation that you want to explain between let's say Harada and this Hentai type like story. I agree. But when in these hentais the theme is at the end "oh I like to get fucked now give me more". In this story the uke was keeping silent and crying at the last panel. That frame just burned the "this is just sex, oh yes mindless porn, I make you gay yeah" atmosphere. Well at least for me. I have read so many things and I do not have an issue. But this is like seeing a porn film which is a bit BDSM and at the end titles i see a text " the female protagonist was abducted and forced to participate, thank you for choosing our movie". No come on. Do not make my sex material heavy. Give me porn do not give me a person crying at the end unable to speak.

Obviously this mangaka have this thing that he/she thinks it is totally sexy to force someone to have sex without attraction or lust, for them just to wake up some day and be used as onaholes (did I spell this correct?) I have read a hentai where some girls were abducted and have tentacle sex until they lost their minds and then they were impregnated thought their nipples and give birth to other monsters etc. Well ok that was so crazy and far-fetched that you do not really thinking about the poor girls whose vacations and lives were ruined by that demon. But that story was so plain and feasible. It gives you chills because it can happen (and happened as we all know from news). This is what I mean realistic, just to explain my self

I hope you realise this ain’t a competition as to who read nastier shit but I think I know which story you mean lol. I suppose when you put “plain and feasible”, I understand what you mean but some parts of this story doesn’t feel real to me. The way it was drawn was clearly to fetishise the “rape”, the blushes on their faces and the angles portray a rather dirty image instead of sending a clear message the gravity of the situation. That and the uke’s thoughts are nutty. It’s classic mind break.
