Hey, I know y’all are scared that this webtoon will become bad because of spoilers you may have read, but instead of dropping it right away, try giving it a chance. I heard the author was changing some stuff from the novel to the webtoon, so maybe he will also change up the parts you guys got complaints about.
Ya I am really far in the novel and up to date on the comic it’s so different but also nice. The comic is adding details that the novel might have not discussed or is going more in depth or is shifting things around. It’s nice reading both. The major plot is the same but the fine details are the ones that have some spice added.
I remember not finishing this because of how shit the story was, so I came back to reread it again and man it’s terrible. First of all, why tf is everyone so lazy? They keep asking kadokura to cook for them, do their laundry, and even sew the buttons on their shirts (seriously, it’s not that hard to sew). Also, why is the seme mad when the uke wants to leave for a far away college once he graduates? Did he expect him to do his chores until they were old, wrinkly ass men? “You’re blaming me instead of apologizing.” ?? Why does he need to apologize? For hurting your stupid ass ego? He also alphas the audacity to say “think more about people’s feelings despite not giving two shits about the uke’s feelings. The dad is also stupid for calling his son selfish for wanting to go to a far away college, despite a lot of children moving away when they grow up. You would think a less ambitious son would be something to actually be disappointed of. Also, wtf is with the pacing. Uke and seme kiss once and all of a sudden they’re rolling in bed kissing each other’s nipples? What even lead up to that? And in the end, the uke ends up doing everyone’s chores again because the seme manipulated him into thinking that he was “running away”. So yeah, idk why I decided to give this another go. Very terrible story
Sorry, hit send before finishing. But this has all the clichés I really don't like. The people who are actually wrong are never addressed nor they reflect on anything they've done. Their wrongdoings are washed over (the father becomes a doting father even though he made his son go through the exact same thing his wife left him for, the seme begins to help but only after his feelings are answered). This could just as easily have some sort of brainwash/Stockholm syndrome tag. The uke doesn't go away because they make him think is his fault. They stump his growth and keep him there for their convenience. Not one person cared about him. Sorry for the long rant I'm just really angry.
Yeah it really bothered me that the seme only started helping a little after the uke reciprocated his feelings, and never actually acknowledged that the things he said and did were wrong. I also hate how despite the uke never actually doing anything wrong, in the end he doesn't leave for college right away and still does their freaking chores (even if he's a little less lenient on it) all because the seme made him think that he was in the wrong. Plot-wise, this story is so terrible that I would rather read yaois with no plot and that are just practically porn.
"The head of the Parvis family cannot show affection like other parents." Now who tf came up with that stupid rule?
Shitty rule
Honestly, it just seems bad writing, at least in "the duchess 50 recipes" that kind of "rule" was handled better, here you have a mere mention of it, blegh.
Yeah more explanation would be nice
