ok this lowkey might sound strange but does anyone have a rec for a series with an mc who is LOCKED IN either academically or/and financially and it's portrayed in a good way. like them succeeding in life is a big part of their character and the story.

After looking through my list : I don't really have anything that matches (except for Assassination Classroom, I guess). Maybe you should look at sports manga - Haykyuu especially has got that kind of energy. In the end college doesn't really matter, it's what you'll be able to do with your diploma that counts.

from what i remember, the mc is playing a game that was designed by someone he knows so that they can see if it's fit for release and so they can eliminate any bugs. it's a romance game where you can romance either girls or guys. he ends up romancing a malfunctioning npc who turns out to be the ml.
there's a scene where the characters who are malfunctioning or bugs get erased i think? and because the ml is an npc, they end up going to some house and having censored sex
there's also a scene where they talk about wanting to see the ocean or something like that but they can't because well... it's a game and that part isn't developed...
but the plot twist i think is that the ml is actually a person irl who hacked??? into the game lol
