I don’t think his “crazy” is the “stab you in the back” kind.
It’s the “I’ve been watching you for years without you knowing” kind. It’ll be revealed that all this time, he’s been keeping tabs, still trapped in whatever twisted love he felt back then. The uniform sniffing back in high school? That wasn’t a one time thing. It was just the beginning.

First, he moves into Taeyoon’s old place. Totally normal, right? Then he reenters Taeyoon’s life right after he breaks up with his long term boyfriend. And shows up at the exact cafe Taeyoon works at, the morning after they sleep together. Jaemin didn’t just fall back in love. He was waiting for the right moment.

Hear me out, guys. I don’t think Bada is just an NPC. He’s the only one with a computer engineering degree, which feels way too specific to be random. His deep knowledge of the game’s locations also stands out…it’s almost like insider knowledge, not just something a player or fan would know. Sure, he’s a horror fanatic, but knowing every single horror trope perfectly for an NPC seems suspicious. It feels like he knows how everything is structured because he helped create it, not just because he’s a fan.
I also don’t think his original memories are completely gone. My guess? One of the other characters is hiding them…probably for a bigger reason we haven’t seen yet.

If your theory is right about someone hiding Bada's tape, my guess would be Seo Jaeseob. He's the only PC whose tape we havent seen.

Not sure why this story is getting so much hate online. Yeonjo and Hee-ryang are such layered, complex characters. People seem to just want smut and fluff, but that’s not how real people are. It’s not a world of purely good or bad; everyone exists in shades of gray. I’m really enjoying the angsty drama so far, and I’m choosing to have faith in the creators. Hopefully, we’ll get to see meaningful character development or redemption arcs, like those in Codename: Anastasia (novel) or Painter of the Night.

I understand that not everyone will see the characters the same way, and that’s totally fine. Complexity can look different depending on the lens you’re viewing it through…whether emotional nuance, trauma, or moral ambiguity. Just because something doesn’t meet your standard of “literary” doesn’t mean it lacks depth for others. And as for Codename: Anastasia and Painter of the Night, they’ve clearly resonated with a lot of people, myself included. That doesn’t make anyone less capable of appreciating well-written stories. Just different perspectives.

I don't think people have any problem with the 'complexity' or realness of the characters. In fact, the realness of the situation is what makes the plot and the characters more interesting. What I find most problematic is the violent graphical grapes in the last episodes. I guess bl readers have some kind of grape- kink including grape scene even when there's absolutely no need for it. Some of you may argue that the plot demands it: maybe or maybe not. Still it is not my cup of tea and I'll still express my disappointment.

You’re absolutely free to express your opinion and discomfort with the story…no one’s stopping that. But it crosses a line when it turns into accusing readers of having a “grape kink.” That kind of assumption is unfair and honestly hurtful. People engage with dark fiction for many reasons, and liking a difficult story doesn’t mean someone enjoys or endorses the disturbing parts. Let’s not reduce others’ perspectives to something that extreme.

I meant to write bl writers , not readers. My bad! Same goes to you. You are welcome to express your contentment with such stories as much as you want. No problem. You are free to share your opinion, but kindly refrain from calling out the ones that has some issues with it just because their opinions do not match yours. Thank you.

Just to clarify, I shared my personal thoughts on the story without addressing anyone directly. I didn’t call anyone out. Meanwhile, you openly criticised readers and writers, and are now telling me not to “call out” others..which feels a little ironic.
As for suggesting I’m “content” with everything in the story, that misrepresents what I actually said. In any case, I believe we simply view things too differently to continue this conversation meaningfully. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Wishing you all the best.

Rape, you can say the word, it brings attention to how horrible of a thing it really is. That aside, it's supposed to be problematic in the sense that it evokes your visceral emotions and empathy for the MC, you're supposed to sympathise with the protagonist being abused. It's quite a popular trope in Joseon period dramas and fiction. You shouldn't read it if it doesn't appeal to you, but putting down authors for producing works that tackle these dark topics shouldn't be a thing imho. I see a lot of people on here saying authors are 'sick' or 'twisted' for writing problematic themes when that's just a step away from trying to censor freedom of expression in literature. No one bats an eye when someone like Margaret Atwood writes about women being forced to endure abuse, rape, and forced childbirth, or someone like Stephen King writes about sharks tearing people limb from limb or clowns eating little boy's arms. That's kind of what I have a problem with in the comments personally. Not your cup of tea? Perfectly fine, move along, don't shit on the author.
Guys, this is too sweet…it’s giving me diabetes.
