y'all, sorry to break it like this, but apparently the second season is coming in 2020. Rest assured, Lan Wangji waited 13 years, we can wait for 2.
Fe de erratas (idk how to write it in english): Today (2/10) Mdzs 2019 has been officially confirmed. God Bless. ANNDD, Scum Villain (another novel from the same author), as well.
He didnt even know how long he had to wait (he'd even be waiting for a lifetime) with little hope. Practically he waited 13 years for his return and more than 20 years to get his love requited.
Yeah right.... I should be glad that i at least KNOW, Mo Dao Zu Shi anime will be back soon :')
By then i will also finish reading the novel:D
In 2 years? *sweat drops.... Um... how many years will it even be before i am prepared for mdzs level Chinese? So many characters tho... Lol i can only recognize (not READ) "魔道祖师" I am totally Chinese illiterate ^¤^.
Even spoken, i cant understand beyond names already known, common words i just put two and two together such as "Tian Ze Shao" (Emperor's Smile), honorifics etc... I understand spoken Japanese so much better.
I appreciate that they are following the novel's story line, however, each chapter is too short. Makes me wonder when the manhua is going to be finished. After two or three years from now? I'm still going to follow it, tho. I'm a fan :D
Btw, thanks Exiled Rebels and K for translating the novel and the manhua!
Ok, I've heard this is a finished novel, so if there is someone here who can answer these questions, please do.
- are we ever going to see a feminist revolution in this empire?
- Who is the evil shadow man? what are his motives?
- did Jinsu die in the real world and his soul (?) was brought as Sanghee's soul? Why?
- and why do they treat women as trash? are they all a bunch of misogynist or there is an ulterior motive?
Thx ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
The novel is really different from the manhwa so its not a reliable source of spoilers but if you're really interested.
1. Are we going to see a feminist revolution in this empire?
Ans : Not really, while sanghee was able to get powers and acknowledgement from most of the men surrounding her, there was not really a point where the novel focused on liberating the enslaved women which was really sad. There were some who tried to escape but as far as giving an entire arc for that story(liberating women) there was really none of it.
2. Who is the evil shadow man and what are his motives?
so remember how his good elder brother doesn't have any powers??? hahahahahha. It's a really long story but to cut it short the world where sanghee was reborn in was previously lead by women. They originally were the ones able to use magic but then this empress(queen or priestess... I'm not really sure since it been so long) fell inlove with this man and she wanted to give him the ability as well. Turns out the man was actually evil and he wanted to topple the other sex's rule. The reason why the sanghee's father doesn't really care about giving away furious potions is because the powerful queen's remains are underneath the koreo's castle. Her magic is too strong so it oozed out of her body and created a lake filled with furious.
(I'm sorry its too long) the evil man who killed the queen managed to live for so long an he does this by possesing the bodies of other people so.... he's basically sanghee's older brother hahahahahah.....
3. did Jinsu die in the real world? What about Sanghee?
I'm not sure...it's either I forgot about it or it was not really discussed.
4. why do they treat women as trash? are they all a bunch of misogynist or there is an ulterior motive?
Yes there is but all the men are probably not aware of it. to be precise women are capable of wielding power but because that evil dude(whose name I have forgotten) wanted to prevent this he made sure that women will be seen as weak and fragile creatures that are basically just a higher form of farm animal. What adds up to this narrative is the fact that a lot more women are born than men which makes the people think that the men are special creatures that although they are with magic and storng, they should still be protected and treated as treasures because unlike women they are irreplaceable.
Will this appear in the manhwa?
I'm not sure since a lot of stuff has already changed.
Oh, I also thought that the shadow man is either the elder brother or chris. But I'm more inclined to think that it's the elder brother since when she was called by the emperor for the second time, he said he was so busy, then I was wondering what's keeping him busy when he's inside the empire and most work concerning koryo is done by the royal scumbag(king) and his 2nd brother. And seriously? He doesn't even bother to visit Sanghee when she's been in trouble a lot of times. The second brother was able to go to her when she needed him although he came from a far place, yet the elder brother didn't even show himself in all those times (for someone who "loves" his little sister, that's unbelievable) when he is near her since he's also within the empire.
Anyway, these are just my thoughts while reading. I love the story
Super Spoiler and I dont know if they will change it in the novel or not but...
According to the novel, Sanghee is a Saint, a female able to bestow magical powers into others. Like the other person said before, the world was previously ruled by women because only they had the ability to yield magic. Until the Empress, the first saint, who wanted to share magic with her Husband, men were not actually magical at all. Unfortunately, her husband was evil, and actually the reencarnated killer of Sanghee. He must have hit a time warp because he has actually been living in that World for thousands of years, but the mechanics of reencarnation are not discussed at all in the story.
Idk about you guys, but the only thing that makes this manga great for me is the final panels of the extra, like daaamn :'( I want a story about them, even though I know it will have a sad ending.
