I watch a movie or comedy to calm myself down, i deal with GAD so I get what you mean. The best way to deal with it is think positively as much as you can like "Everything's going to be alright" just always do that before you do something impulsively. I was fired for being on my phone too much while working as a cashier in drive thru like i didnt pay attention to customers much and it kept happening cus i was so addicted.

Dealing with a break up rn how do I deal with these emotions?
Its only been a day this is normal to feel like this, it takes alot of time and for now to stop wanting them back. Limit yourself from talking abt or stalking them. Thats the only way to move on. Also mate just like cry and cry until you cant, trust its better to let all out your emotions that way.
