All of you saying you're sad for the author are hypocrites, literally any author would feel like shit for knowing their work is on illegal sites but you still read them and dont care until one of them speaks up about it, lmao
Do you not understand the concept of “guilt”? And even if they feel guilty, because of circumstances like being poor or not understanding the language, scanlations are the only way some people are able to access and read the things they like?
I buy the raws of any unlicensed manga I genuinely love. But because I cannot read the raws, scanlations are how I understand them.
And do you not understand that they only express their guilt when they're exposed, just to look like they actually care or "if i say this i'll fell less guilty"? I also dont pay shit to read manga but i dont go and write 'oh i fell so sad for the author" just because they are now aware me and others read it illegaly
Plus I'm not talking about you, im talking about people who dont buy any form of manga :)
No, I understood. You were calling people hypocrites for having empathy, despite knowing nothing about them or how they consume their media. How do you know if they haven’t been buying raws and using scanlations to read because they can’t read raw? Or that they’re subscribed to every single available legal platform but because their favorite author isn’t in any of them, scanlations are their only medium to read their work in a language they understand? You don’t know these things, and acting like people are shitty for piracy isn’t going to fix this issue when piracy isn’t a black/white thing and sometimes piracy is even how an underground niche work turns popular and picked up by a publisher.
Im calling them hypocrites for doing a thing which contradicts what they say, you can say you feel guilt all you want but it doesnt change the fact that what you're doing is illegal when you could have just not read the mangas if you dont have money or a way to read them through legal methods. You think you do understand what i say, but in reality you're just too dumb to understand this and the only thing you're achieving here is wasting my time, so i'm muting this now (since i feel like you'll keep replying to days on end)
lol. It is you who understand nothing. I dunno, you talk and treat other people like they're dumb. Your haughty behavior is irrelevant. Doing something illegal does not take away all humanity. We are still human beings with emotions, you know? Empathy is part of the human. It's not up to you to decide when to feel guilty or not.
Well, maybe because the person answering me was in fact very dumb, and worry not, you're also irrelevant to me. Never have i said it took away humanity, i just stated how hypocritical it is of people to ONLY express their guilt when their caught, which is also super hilarious by the way. You seem to not understand shit of what im trying to say, thats a good sign /s
All this person will do will block you and call you names.
Also this person isn’t even using the term hypocrite right. We’d be hypocrites if we lectured to people how piracy is bad and yet still use a pirating website (like this person is doing right now lol) — all we’re expressing is empathy for the author, but that considering the circumstances, piracy was the only way we would’ve been able to read their work in the first place because 1.) no english version is available and 2.) the chance of it getting licensed is next to 0 because the work is in Mandarin and all english BL publishers are only working with JP BL. Ayu is being very ignorant of how the industry works and the complications of piracy, for how much they think they’re so smart.
*correction, all english BL publishers are only working with JP and KR BL.
And because My Influencer Boyfriend’s rights are held by its Taiwanese publisher, the author working with a volunteer translator isn’t even an option. So yeah, piracy is the only way for any english speaker to understand this series unless they either learn mandarin or they’re willing to wait for the BL publications industry to change and expand their language selection in who knows how many years, and by then we don’t even know if this series would be relevant enough to get picked up. In my case, and in many other people’s cases, we buy the raws to at least support the author.
i hate when the manga has pretty art but then they all have 4 ears and i just cant take anything seriously
