Then he meet NK who he saw in love with Inhun. He saw how NK did not wish for anything in return (physical/money) but for Inhun to just be successful.
Which makes me kind of think if Jihwa had shared his genuine feelings from the start, SH might’ve returned them. But they solely kept their relationship physical, most likely to Jihwa thinking SH was not interested and being content with just feeling he knew SH better than others and being in a physical relationship.

No. Jihwa kept the relationship physical because of what SH went through when his father moved him and forced him to stay in his current home. Jihwa talks about and basically says that. Jihwa was being delicate with SH cause Jihwa knew all the shit SH went though and he assumed their relationship would evolve into mutual love because he had been there for him for so long.
I just thought it was SH keeping it physical and Jihwa being content with it because he felt he had a connection with him that others did not.
Especially since after NK arrives he is taunted by Min(?) about how NK is going to be SH mistress, making fun of that fact that a low born was getting what was clear Jihwa wanted.
I feel so bad for jihwa. BD really captured his heartache and desperation. It seems like he wanted to give SH a second chance, but with this rejection I’m sure he is going to go along with the assassination with Nameless and Min.
Now what I’m wondering is why does SH love/care about NK and not Jihwa? And I really think none of them know, not even SH himself. & that just adds salt to injury because Jihwa knows SH very well, his past, his trauma and has send he wants to help him heal in way and NK just comes in and SH completely changes with almost no effort in NK, in a way Jihwa was never able to reach.

Actually I think quite the opposite happened. He has mentioned before he is the only one who knows, and even when he was hurting/drunk and others wondered what he was talking about he did not say.
I think SH & Jihwa were just found messing around as young teens and that’s why SH father said Jihwa also had the “disease”
maybe seungho took the blame for it? bc if they got caught in the act, then both of their families would've punished them harshly. yet, jihwa probably only got his top knot cut off whereas seungho was basically tortured. plus, didn't the doctor say that it was a "contagious disease" and that jihwa also "caught the illness? if they were caught in the act together, then it wouldn't make sense that jihwa "caught" the illness from seungho.

NK was told by the doctor a bit about SH past regrading his health, and what I think is that SH dad saw him being interested homo-erotic things like NK with his paintings.
He sent him to the doctor with bruises and said he had “a spiritual disease” specifically saying “wayward yang energy”
He also said that Jihwa had the disease as well.
So what my theory is that SH father did see him interested in homo-erotic things, also Jihwa and kept him isolated in the house all while being abusive towards him. Then when there was trouble, he gave up his son to old men to save himself, letting his child be r*ped since he was gay.

I've written a theory before where SH always wanted to impress his father but his father has already chosen his brother due to his "flaw"... Based on what is said 2 chaps ago. Which now I am more sure after this chapter that it is about his sexuality.
