I agree with ml here. You can't possibly care about what everyones saying, and considering the circumstances of how she came in the duchy it's inevitable for their to be gossip. When you have such a high power and position you don't have the time to care about the thoughts of others. Distancing a relationship/friendship just because of a few words from maids (who in the end are just insignificant) is unreasonable.
