Personally for me, if the plot and chemistry good then I don’t really care.
If it’s just grape and barely any plot then I’m outta there.
Also there’s the plots where there’s grape but doesn’t glorify it, some of those r pretty good too.

i'm like this 2. doesn't help that most of the overhyped bls on here are bound to contain at least one felony. i just skim over it & focus on the rest.

Authors are just annoying about that, the story maybe okay or mildly good, but they include rape as in a weird ritual of some sorts.
But if you read later into the story it will be ignored how the rape even took place and story will progress with proper character designs, personality etc.
So at one point everyone just learnt how to ignore it.
But hopefully no bl reader supports it, just call it some sort weird of fetish. But it's not supported..

Most people just don't care. They complain but continue to read things with rape. For some reason. Alot and I mean ALOT of bls have rape in them, but personally I dont find it super hard to avoid them.. Most stories with rape aren't good anyway so I don't see a point in continuing to read them when 90% the time the stories are just dumpster fires

sometimes ppl like the plot so they try to ignore it so that they can keep reading, and ofc some ppl are just weirdos who like reading grape

(if you don't want to read grape, try to ignore most stuff on featured and get stuff from lists etc)

no i meant like most popular bls have grape. so if you read popular bls, there's a lack of options ( of healthy bls) . dw i'm not excusing that stuff

Simple because of how normalized it is in BL. I’m probably a part of the 0.01% of people who immediately drop if there’s any sort of rape or SA. I consider the story immediately trash bc if you have to use rape/SA in order to develop your characters then it’s ass. Not to mention most of the BL with rape are just yaoi slop and not worth skipping over and continue reading it.

its so normalized and i find it really gross aswell. its mostly a fetishized thing coming from the author themself aswell as the fanbase because there are so many bls with literally zero plot and just full on rape which they'd cover with a smut genre. im an advocate for all green flag bls and gls so all types of SA make me extremely uncomfy aswell (instant drop) and its freakishly prominent in the bl world and even used as a plot device of some sort. again, it sucks ass and i will forever hate bls that include them to deepen the characters backstory cause adding it for plot is FINE if u really wanna give an in-depth background for a character but fetishizing it between the prepetrator and the victim is not healthy at allll

Yea it wasn't easy copying and pasting the entire rainbow city novel translated into 25 google docs, 23 for each chapter on newtoki, 1 for 80% of the novel (the rest wouldnt fit), and 1 for the entire translated version of Rainbow City Citadel of god. (that one took me 4 hours because the readhive translation wasnt available for free yet but I bought it on ridibooks in korean but it doesnt allow copying and pasting so I had to copy, paste and google translate 1 tiny section at the time and it took forever)
But, in my bio is just the main story

im with u dude if the dynamic of the trope is smtg i reeaaally like and the plot is something that leaves u to be really curious about how its gonna end, then ill continue reading it.

for example, slammer dogs, and its not rlly suprising how theres sm non con in it bc its about prison life but the explicit scenes sometimes really scares me. But I'm very invested in the plot because the character building and the dynamic btwn the mls and mcs r so interesting. Not trying to justify grape tho whatsoever I'm just trying to work out how this manhwa might end
