Agree, the guy was totally normal and composed, just worked as he should. He could answer some of his lover questions yo avoid misundertandings but well, that's just a flaw everyone could have if we are angry
You're choosing to ignore everything else. People aren't angry or upset at him because he did not answer questions. We're upset because of how he acted. He would've been a likable character but he did things the wrong way. Yes people won't answer some of their lover's questions because of fear or something else but that's not what happened with him. He purposely refused to and acted like he was right. I personally would've liked him because of how nonchalant he was but he took it to another entire level. I haven't read this in forever and tbh I don't want to read it again but he refused to converse. Conversing is the best part of a relationship and not just a love relationship. He did everything on his own without caring about his lover. Someone who has romantic feelings is flirting with him and even though he knows that he doesn't care. Sure I'd be upset if my lover was paranoid that someone was chasing after me but here someone *is* chasing after him and even though he can see that he isn't fully rejecting him. He's doing it half-assed. Then he decides to get upset at his lover for that. That's why some if not most people are upset. And I'm sorry to say but if their relationship is a bit toxic.
I'm not insulting the story or anything though. Overall it was really good if that was what the author was going for but we all have characters we dislike and characters we like
I'm not ignoring it, you're totally right, but I read people on this chatroom justifying rape just cause of his behaviour, but I can't hate him he's a normal guy, not some usual crybaby partner as I see in 80% of other historyes
