You should start rereading at Ch 23 after Heonjae and Myeongi-IL have sex for the first time. We see Myeong-IL read a bit about Jingi and Heonjae's criminal record. At that point we didn't know who the victim was then we get a backstory about Heonjae's childhood about his interactions with his teacher and so on and so forth.
