People are saying every 1 in 5 friends are gay, but now it seems 1 in 5 are straight (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

That would make 20% of the population gay and the most widely agreed on number is around 10%. So that would mean there’s a probability that 1 in 10 friends are gay, if your speaking strictly statistically. But friend groups aren’t statistics. In a group of openly non biased friends, you’re more likely to see more LGBTQ+ ppl in the friend group. In a group that consists of openly bigoted or those that are religious fundamentalists (fundamentalists of a religion that has anti-gay texts or at has at least historically interpreted its texts to be anti-gay), you’ll se fewer, if any LGBTQ+ ppl. Just FYI. But an interesting stat I read while back is that there’s a small island off the coast of CA that has a population of seagulls in which 27% (I’m pretty sure that’s the #, it’s been awhile since I read it) of the female seagull population is gay. I’ve always wondered why the that one island has a much higher % or gay seagulls and why it’s only the females.
