From what I read, their romance went from FL being determined to avoid her past fate to her suddenly being in love with him again, and literally zero development in between. All ML did was not be shitty towards her in this life—talk about low standards.

The fact that he has the potential to do that sort of thing in any timeline and she marries him is sickening. The author really said nope not doing any emotional trauma in this story, even tho even now when he says your so cruel to the mc I get a smile on my face cause he felt what she felt although a slither but it vanishes when I know thats all of his character will have as punishment.
Dont at me I like this whole thing a lot but I would have a more open mind to him if the author fleshed him out a bit more. It would be so much better if he didnt be punishment like the mc had but had experiences that made him more humble, which would have made him more fleshed out. I could understand how the mc would like him again if they went through those experiences together, however the MC changes her crushes like its changing season, I mean think back to when she lost it and tried to kill him, how many things did he do to finally break her, I normally ignore stupidity in MC but this one takes the cake. I understand your point buuuut.... Ruve was poisoned and manipulated by a Duke. He grow up thinking that nobody loves him and that Aristia had not feelings for him. So when she died and he sort out the poison thing, he descovered that she was not a doll without emotions but that she learned to dont demostrate anything like him and that she actually take care a lot of him so he regrets and was yearning for her. Ruve in this line of time don´t have the guilt for something that don´t happen yet u.u

not only does he feel inferior and unbefitting for having commoner blood, he had to watch everyone put their expectations on someone else - aka his father favoring tia because he loved jeremiah and saw her in tia; disguising that favoritism as tough love to ruve in preparation for his reign as the future emperor. to put it simply, he was emotionally unstable. no one taught him how to seek out for help or express his feelings. he mightve turned out different if he wasnt so messed up in the head since childhood without any guidance from adults
and the duke - knowing that - took advantage of that vulnerability and used ruve as a puppet for years. yeah it wasnt tias fault for being born that way, but the same goes for ruve. it wasnt his fault for being born as a prince, nor was it his fault for being jealous of someone else receiving the affection hes so desperately wanted to have - the affection he believed couldve been his.

Whatever your oppinions the thing that the author has made any way you look at it is a story about a jealous boy who was and even in this timeline is emotionally unstable, cause he never had love before but he married the girl who he felt jealous towards. take away what the duke did to him, you would still have a person who lived their life with constant jealously which appantly molds into love because him and the mc just talked to each other and were nice to eachother. They got married (from the comments) but let me remind you he was jealous of her for his entire childhood, with unstable people dont make two people that actually cause the problems come together, it gives me chills to think about that close a relationship happens, yer I could see the mc forgiving him if they only became friends I would maybe forgive him or at least pity him. Sad to think the drawings are so pretty but the marriage of two unstable people (lest we forget the mc still has the memories of her past life traumas still there) are in this and would have been an awful marriage to draw out so no hopes for an after marriage novel, but no hopes for a realistic marriage between them probs would all be lovehearts and I am sorry
The author literally makes a excuse so he wouldn’t be directly responsible for what he did and that PISSES me off. On top of the fact that she went back to her abuser. Like ew. Did u grow? Did u learn? U just forgot everything because from the start even if she was scared of him, she still loved him and when she found a excuse for his actions, she went back to him. That shows how much leniency she had for him. The author did not deal with the abuse and rape properly. They could have had closure and his excuses without them back together. That shit is irky asf.
