Give it a chance, don’t let the comments about the emperor lead your judgement. He’s not the root of all of the empress’ problems and he’s acting as he should, given the empress’ character evaluation of him. As a reader, focus on what’s to come from the Empress who’s investigating the culprit of her as well as the concubine’s recent assassination attempts. The romantic adventure with the emperor is just smth that we get to witness along with her journey of survival as a college student in a world of ancients.

Ik I’m defending this manhwa a lot, but it has so much potential and there are other comics that did this trope dirty (and I’m a whore for modern characters having to survive in the ancient times).
Literally, there’s hope for this Emperor bc all he wants is to be looked at as a man by the one he likes. If he seriously gets feelings for the empress, he’ll start vying for her attention after being swept in by her naturally flirty prowess.
Before all that tho, they gotta be mutually respectful (the emperor has to start respecting) and they’re getting there.

[ch.34] Honestly, I was getting tired of female leads in your typical isekai wanting to develop nations or have a peaceful life without disturbance because they’ve accepted their fate as a villain or whatever (not like it’s all that bad, really, just that the trope is becoming overused). Despite prior opinions, I gotta suggest you give this a chance, but read in a different perspective and expect what is to be expected from a romance.
The mc, though a tad foolish, is neither dumb nor smart. She just wants to live, fall in love and be free of being used. It’s unexpected when they do, but they meet and fall into a forbidden love— it’s pretty straightforward from the beginning to the end and at the pace the plot is moving, nothing feels rushed.
There’s a gap of time, however, that is unexplained and I really hope we get a peak more of what Kiha was doing in the duration of 9 months.
It's been so long since I've detoxed my brain holes with this fluffy a read, and when I least expected, the waterworks (not really, i just got really invested) started in the last couple of chapters
It’s literally just what I needed after all the toxic and absolutely mind boggling shit I be reading I feel satisfied with this
