Tbh it is way more chill than when I started, because at least now it's in the toxic BL category, with its own audience, it is a whole subgenre that you can avoid.
Back when I started it was standard even for stuff that were supposed to be fluff. It was like "bro let me rape you to show my love" and uke going "oh why am I suddenly falling for this man".
A good prime example of that is Escape Kyuugou. That was a standard start of plot, like confessing their feelings was just rape. Look up Koisuru Boukun. This is what it was.
So now the fact that it is actually giving you the option not to read, making it a seperate category and all, is way more chill than before. But I guess that's where your win ends, can't have the butter and the money for it I guess.
