PLEASE Y’ALL I’ve seen this so much lately and I can’t believe this is a PSA I feel the responsibility to make but if you’re under 18 you really shouldn’t be broadcasting your age/that you’re a minor in the comments sections of 18+ manga. While I know realistically everyone reads stuff younger than they technically should, as someone in their mid to late 20s I cannot emphasize how 1) dangerous it is to be announcing that while existing in 100% adult spaces and 2) uncomfortable it makes adults knowing that there’s kids trying to talk about sexual content with you online while making it abundantly clear they’re young. I should not be going into a manga called something like “Plowed in the Hole by my Big Dicked Boss” and see someone say “as a 14 year old this makes me feel x way/I have x opinion” and arguing that you’re “mature enough for it even though you’re young” just makes my stomach churn—it’s dialogue that bad actors can take advantage of, and also is just not appropriate for the situation. interacting like that in what is 100% an adult space is just something you shouldn’t be doing. At the risk of sounding like an old person back in my day we all lied about/didn’t talk about our ages because there was an understanding that it wasn’t safe. So please y’all for your safety if you’re going to be reading silly smut online, please don’t draw a target in your back while simultaneously making it uncomfortable for the actual adults the content is meant for. Talk about it with your friends, not on an open forum like this one where anyone can see it.
