I really enjoyed the last sex scene, if you could even call it that. It really showed the change of Ma-kun’s character and the importance of his relationships as he’s aged—before, with the other man, it was very fast-paced, all sex drugs and rock and roll with über-large stakes. But he didn’t really find enjoyment/fulfillment until Hitoshi, whose sort of mundane and regular lifestyle appealed to him. This is sort of how relationships evolve, I find—you usually end up happiest in romantic relationships with those who are a steady force who cares for you, versus an exciting, dramatic person who wants you for themself. If you notice, he never laughs with the other man at all, and he’s always laughing with Hitoshi. I find that this, and the evolution of less-than-vanilla sex, just really showcases this. Idk maybe I’m reading too much into it but it adds another layer of realism and strength to their relationship that wouldn’t have otherwise been there should the author have chosen to just go right into thr hyper-sexual wild stuff so often in this genre, because that isn’t the kind of relationship or life Ma-kun wants or has right now, symbolically speaking.
Some of y’all here take this comic WAY to seriously. It’s a fantasy—obviously if Kimin was real this stuff would be creepy, but it’s a fantasy, like ALL romance stories. In romance stories sex always is amazing, the love interest is always devoted, and sometimes the stuff that’s creepy irl is portrayed as romantic, etc. Like in real life, what are the odds that you end up falling in love with the person you hate? Like next to none—but it happens all the time in fiction. Same with this type of stuff.
The things that happen are not meant to be taken literally. I’ve been reading BL for like 7+ years and some of y’all recently seem to want to take this as a literal representation of reality. Like sweetie. This is meant to titillate and entertain and show an idealized relationship where everything works out and stuff. Idk man some of y’all tire me. Let’s bring back an old internet proverb: If you don’t like, don’t read.
Yesssss honestly its made so you can escape reality so u can go to a world where everything always works out like even the cringiest things here work out and are cute like yes ngl this relationship is kinda manipulative but it always works out like yk its cute ur not supposed to analyze it to the bones but yk eh idk wut to say im just saying i agree with u
When people say that I think they mean “I want an idealized relationship like this one”, not necessarily “I want an actual stalker boyfriend”. I don’t think anyone wants that. Wanting a “relationship like theirs” generally means “I want one where someone desires me and pursues me and actively wants me”. Same reason that many people read like “assassin/mafia romance” stories. You don’t ACTUALLY want a mafia guy to come and you to get involved in a murder gang. Same with this. It’s a fantasy, and most people recognize that.
You are right but when it gets to the point where all the seme has to do is cry to get the uke to listen it crosses the line. The uke litterally ask him to listen to what he says and his feelings and yet still after the parent thing they litterally ignore it...it makes sense for people to think that something else might be going on and it's not just a happy cute shounen ai.
I love this webtoon a lot story wise but I honestly miss the older art style...everyone’s shoulders are SO BROAD now
The old art style was better.
